Remember when guns killed stuff?
Ok, so when I'm 3 levels below the recommended level for a mission, it says VERY HARD, only a fool would try this, etc. And with good reason. It's pretty much just asking for a thrown controller landing in the wall. But, when I'm 5 levels above my enemies, we're fairly matched? Basically, if im level 30 fighting other level 30 creatures, they'll kill me in 3-5 hits while I kill them in 1-2 (small stuff) or 5-10 (harder stuff) but if im 2-3 levels lower than them they kill me in 1-3 hits and I kill them in a full magazine if i'm lucky, but then I just did a mission where I was 23 levels higher than my enemies and was still not 1 shot killing them unless they were chumps like thralls or acolytes. Why bungie? Why are they so much tougher than meeeeeee?

1 ReplyLook at the level of your gun.... level 20 aint it? It maybe purple or yellow but its still 20. So your trying to kill 30s with a 20 weapon. YOUR level is just for armor and show and doesnt really do shit

1 ReplyYep. I always feel under leveled What's the point of leveling up. An what's the point if the numbers on the gun. My old ice breaker maxed at 300 attack ...now I upgraded it to 333 or whatever and it's still does same damage to bosses and enemies. Whatever Bungie. It's a trick.

The reason the game is this way is because all enemies give same exp no matter what level.

The game scales damage to match the level your fighting. Fight a level 5 do level 5 damage. Sad reality is a 31 can't / won't ever do level 31 damage unless you're in the hard raid.

6 RepliesLol, yeah, it bugs me. What's the point of leveling up, feels artificial. Level 28, got popped, looked on the screen, level 4 captain. I think he was fibbing about his level.

Couldn't agree more to be honest. You don't feel powerful.

This prevent easy plowing for a lower lvl, makes all in the fireteam needed even if you are 10lvls apart.

Because it adds "replay ability". I for one think the levels shouldn't exist so you don't need to get pissed knowing your level 30 just got 2 chopped by a level 8 Vandal.
