What kind of notebook do you use for school?

I've always used those Five Star notebooks but I want to change things up a bit and see what other people are using. I feel like there's better stuff out there (not that the Five Star notebooks are bad).

  • I used to use those cheap 99¢ ones, but I switched it up this past semester. Got some nicer more expensive ones. That was a mistake, because I didn't even use a third of each notebook. So, this coming semester I'll either switch back to the cheaper smaller notebooks or I'll go for one of those big five-subject notebooks. There are a lot of advantages and disadvantages to each option. If I pick the smaller cheaper notebooks, it'll be easier to differentiate between subjects and I'd only bring the ones I would be using, lightening my load. However, that also opens the door for the possibility of me forgetting my notebook for a class, or losing one(or more, I'm not gonna rule that out) of them entirely. That'd probably only happen because I would have too many to keep track of easily. But, if I were to get a single five-subject notebook I wouldn't have to worry about keeping track of a bunch of different notebooks. Another advantage would be that I would have all of my notes and materials with me at once, so I could reference all of them without worry. However, that also opens a very dangerous possibility. What if, by some stroke of horrendous luck, I lose my five-subject notebook? I'd lose everything. All my notes, syllabi, handouts, and other tidbits of information I had jotted down. The thought is definitely scary. I don't know, is the risk worth it? Maybe. I'll decide when the time comes. Cheap notebooks or 5-subject notebook? I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
