Canary Error

I am a huge fan of Destiny and am loving the new expansion, but every time I bring my Xbox home (like I just have for winter break) I am unable to connect to Destiny due to the canary error code. My Xbox itself says that I am connected to the internet and says "It's all good" for both network and multiplayer tests. My NAT type switches periodically between open and moderate, yet still, the instant I press the A button at the destiny home screen, it gives me the canary error. I have rebooted my Xbox and my router multiple times to no avail, and am getting extremely frustrated with this problem. The stupid part is, that if I hook up a wired ethernet cable connected to a wireless-to-ethernet adapter, the game has no problems connecting to the internet, even though the game is noticeably laggy. Doing a straight wired connection works, but is impractical for me because of how far my router is away from the TV that I want to play on. We have one of the better wifi routers on the market, a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk, as well as high-speed comcast internet, which I have NEVER had problems with before using wifi on any online game. The sad part is that Destiny claims there is no connection whatsoever, even if I had checked my connection the instant before trying the game. If anyone has any tips that can help me out, they would be greatly appreciated. I am getting very frustrated with this issue as it has been happening to me ever since I tried to play the Beta at my house this summer. Thank you, and hope everyone is having a good holiday break!

  • I've gotten canary 5 times in 30min tonight. At some point all these errors have nothing to do with us. I'm on a 100Mbps down connection from TWC, the third largest ISP in the country with 14 million customers. It's a private connection, not a shared connection at a business or school. I'm using one of the most used modems in the country, a Moto Surfboard in bridge mode, and one of the best new AC modems with updated firmware and all the pertinent mods for port forwarding. That's really all you can do. If they can't make their game compatible on a setup like that then our hands are tied. Super annoying considering this game has been out for almost 4 months and was in alpha and beta testing for half a year or more.
