So a few weeks ago in late November, Xur sells the Plan C exotic fusion rifle for the first time, and I didn't have it yet so I bought it. Then, the next 2 nightfalls in a row I got Plan C as my completion reward. Ok, pretty strange..... I'm not sure how low the odds are of this happening, but considering all the other possible rewards I could have gotten from completing the weekly nightfall, including legendary items, ascendant materials or strange coins, and of course other exotic gear, I think it's safe to say the odds were incredibly low. Then, the next exotic weapon I bought from Xur was Patience and Time on 12/19. I ran the nightfall immediately after visiting Xur, and do you want to guess what my completion reward was?!? PATIENCE AND TIME!!!!?!? Now, while this was a little frustrating since I had my fingers crossed for an exotic I did not yet have, it's not too bad considering I can just dismantle it for an exotic shard, which is definitely useful. But more than anything it was shocking, and it really makes me wonder if nightfall rewards are RNG, if there is a behind the scenes algorithm or game mechanic at work, or if there is a glitch in my game somehow, because while I'm not sure what exactly the odds are of this series of events happening, I'm guessing it is beyond extremely rare. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining...... An exotic shard is worth 7 strange coins, which is no chump change, and I'll take it 8 days a week. But I'm curious if anyone can calculate the odds of this series of events happening, and if anyone has any input on wether or not this is worth looking into. Thanks!!
