Wasp error, nothing works!

Since the last update for Destiny, I have been getting WASP errors every time I try to download the patch. I have cleared my cache, I've reinstalled Destiny, and I have cleared my entire console. Nothing works! I spent 150 dollars on a game that I can't play, I thank the few Bungie members trying to help but I would like an official statement from Bungie. The problem starts out with a 1.21mb download, then when it gets to 20% it switches to a 78.56mb download but when it gets to 20-50% it shows the error code. I can't deal with this any longer, is it only for Xbox One?

  • Hi everyone, We are sorry to see people encountering this issue. We realize some of you have already attempted the following steps, but I will place them here just in case: -Clearing the Cache by turning off your console, unplugging it for 10 minutes and plugging it back in. -Having a wired connection when installing updates If these have not resolved your issue, below are further troubleshooting steps for directly clearing the cache in your Destiny launch screen. Please let me know if the information provided below resolves your issue. -Launch Destiny on your console (Do not press A to play) -At the sign on screen (the screen that prompts you “Press A To Play”) press and hold the following buttons for ~10 seconds, or until the game launches : Right Bumper (RB) + Left Bumper (LB) + down on the dpad -Please note: This button command should only be used during the Start Screen

    • I just encountered this error last night, but was able to fix it due to unbelievable luck. I tried uninstalling the game, re-installing it, uninstalling map packs etc, but to no avail. What made the "patch" finally download for me was switching from a Ethernet Home-link connection to wireless. When I made this last ditch effort, the "patch" successfully downloaded, and I have not seen it since. So, my suggestion to any people who are having this problem is to try to swap your method of connecting your Xbox to the internet. If you use wireless, try an Ethernet cable. If you use Ethernet, try wireless. Hopefully you all will find yourselves with Destiny working immediately. Good Luck to everybody! I will watch this thread and see if I can help any others out.

      • This is driving me mad as well. I have exactly the same symptoms today. I was online with XBOX support and they took me through the cache clearing and re-installing. I also did a hard reset on my wireless router. All to no avail. I have put a lot of money and time into this game and the present situation is unacceptable. Do Bungie have a support line or support ticket system. If not that to in unacceptable in this day and age

        • it appears to be specifically related to xbox one. There was a thread from earlier in the month that bungie posted asking for gt, console, and connection type. It has been getting a lot of activity today and every single post says xbox one. I've looked up a lot about it and found most people experience the exact same issue that you outlined, which is why I'm on this post. Bungie basically seems to be feeding us the same bs troubleshooting techniques to hold you over until they fix whatever is wrong on their end. I doubt bungie has too much real advice to offer other than to be patient. Best thing to do is probably to contact them, provide as much info as possible, and hope for the best.

        • I have the same problem. Usually uninstalling will fix but I lose a day of game time... I really wish there was a better way.
