DeeJ! joo have some susplaining to do!!!

UPDATE: To those that have commented and replied, thank you. The insight and information offered by many if only an educated guess, is better than no information at all. People have raised a very good points. Bungie might not be able to comment. Could be a non disclosure agreement, could be another legal issue like intellectual property, or something else all together. At this point realizing they may never reply or can't, I'm more interested in what their path forward is. What plans they have for the game to fix the story. The post is not intended to have the same tone as a lot of the completely negative reviews and complaints you see on the forums. It asks a simple question, "Why the changes?" I have gotten a lot of the same responses so this edit is a way to address the repetition of those responses without replying to hundreds of the same question or comment. 1. The original video is a summarization of a lot of the differences. It is not a complete and total list of all of them. I say that below. I also say that the links for all of the Bungie trailers and ViDoc's (that show content in which you can see all of the differences for yourself) are available in the body text of the video provided on YouTube. They are still available to watch on Bungie's destinythegame YouTube channel. Watch for yourself and you be the judge if you doubt the authenticity of the video I linked. 2. It is not unrealistic to expect a game to look and be a way a developer says it is repeatedly when they don't tell you anything about major overhaul or changes. When you tell me something is a certain way or has certain aspects I believe it. And when it's delivered if it's missing many of those, it's not crazy to notice or ask questions. 3. The changes are apparent. Not just in the video above but several from Bungie themselves. This is not arguable. I'm not claiming some mass conspiracy nor is this some whistleblower or anti establishment rant. (Why do people keep bringing up Edward Snowden?) This post is asking the question, "Why did things change so much?" That is not unreasonable to ask. 4. I noticed and pieced together the differences from my own memory and looking online. I was not following the information about these differences in September or October because I was playing the game. I was still understanding what I had. I'm not a journalist, I have no obligation to bring you the latest breaking news in regards to Destiny. I noticed something, I felt it begged a question, I asked. That's what these forums are for. The fact that it had been asked 3 months ago and no official answer was given was news to me and to many. It also makes me even more curious. Some as you can see from the posts weren't even aware of the differences. 5. To those who it applies, please stop confusing a person asking questions and expressing disappointment in a rational way as complete negativity of the game and whining. I say below I enjoy the game. I say I liked the DLC. I say I hope they change my mind. I'm not trying to demonize DeeJ or Bungie. I wanted an answer to a question. I enjoy the game even though it is a solid C rating for me. I believe it has the possibility to be truly great in time with additional content, patches, hot fixes, etc. Despite what happened in the past. I say that below. 6. I raid, do weeklies, heroics, bounties, Crucible, and events just like everyone else. Again the post was to ask why is it not the A plus game we expected? If others feel it is an A plus game then they are perfectly entitled to feel that way. I don't, many don't, hence the question. Original Post: Note: The video above references some BIG changes in this game now versus a year and a half ago. All of the referenced videos or ViDoc's are from Bungie itself. They have been summarized by the narrator in the video but the links to the original videos are listed on the YouTube channel so you can view without edit and judge for yourself. Keep that in mind. In the reddit post that was "leaked" in which someone who claims to be a former or current employee of Bungie talks about the drastic differences in the game they worked on versus the one that shipped, you are quoted as saying in the comments that we are being "trolled by the Internet and to not to believe it." This post has mysteriously been removed repeatedly from Reddit and the Bungie forums even when it has been reposted again and again by players. I'm not reposting it. I'm not looking to get an account ban. I myself commented on one of the posts asking questions why the game is so different and not five minutes later the entire thread was shut down. I violated no terms or service or code of conduct. Odd. And it made me wonder even more, "If there's not any truth then why care? Why the swift censorship? Why not an explanation if there is any truth to it?" But you can't believe everything you read on the Internet as we all know and it has been over a year and a half since I viewed the ViDoc's that Bungie released. (Yes I've been following the game that long.) But there was some thing gnawing at my mind that wouldn't leave me alone. Something that said "No, this is not right. You're not getting the experience you were led to expect and this game, while enjoyable, is a far cry from what you were led to believe." That I'm not wrong in feeling underwhelmed and that Bungie fell short of the great work they normally do. I love your guys' games. Or, I never felt disappointed in them up until this point. I never played Marathon or Myth but I was a huge fan since Halo 1 and was sad to hear when you guys left the series after Reach. I wanted to give you guys the benefit of the doubt when the game stopped living up to expectations. But, I wanted to be right in doing so. I've defended this game and believed it could be the great experience that was promised. So I went back and looked up the ViDoc's. Less than a year and a half ago you guys released a ton of info on this game. And it looked amazing. Just the story alone. Not the menus, the customizations, the differences in talent builds, the weapon layouts (which are all different in the videos). I mean the story. Which we all agree is full of holes. And just watching the ViDoc's BUNGIE released again, the story alone is DRAMATICALLY different. It was complete. Or at least more complete. The Queen's brother is a character called Crow voiced by a different actor. The City and Speaker don't appear to be altruistic as they appear. In some instances drastic differences in level design, while other areas that aren't even in the shipped game are playable a year and a half ago. Whole new planets (Saturn and Mercury) which are referenced on the Grimoire but not in the shipped game. References to Faction Wars, the Reef seeming to be a sanctuary similar to the Tower? It's was shocking. Then I thought well maybe they cut it all out to release as content updates and dlc. But Bungie has explicitly said that they "did not cut game content to release as dlc." And even more interesting a lot of these differences are files on the shipped game but not accessible or playable. And coincidentally every one of the differences noted in the ViDoc's was referenced in that Reddit article. But I was just gonna dismiss it as fanfiction. A convenient way to string together some information and give us a little bit of drama. You yourself said it was a lie. There were no major edits or game changes a year before the game shipped because of change in direction. But that is conflicting information from what Bungie itself has given. In the video above, it shows a fireteam around the 14:32 mark. Imagine my surprise when looking at the stark difference in menus, I noticed one of the player names is yours. DeeJ BNG. Clear as day. That is hard to dismiss. Look dude, I don't know you from Adam. I have no clue what kind of challenges you face in your job or what has happened at Bungie over the last two years. I have no idea why SO MUCH content has been cut from this game when it shipped. Why the game a year and a half ago looked so much better than the slapdash skeleton we have now. I can only assume it was some intellectual property issue or development issue that caused it to be axed so it could ship on time. What I don't like is being jerked around. I play this game for entertainment. For fun. I spent $60 of my hard earned dollars on it because I expected a game of the caliber and quality your company is known for. And as your consumer when the goods don't measure up; When I and legions of your fans ask you about it, I expect an honest damn answer. I don't need you to claim ignorance about something and then to find out later it's a lie. Many of us play games to escape from our daily lives, if only for a brief respite. To enjoy, to have fun, to be a little bit of a kid again. We are lied to and disappointed daily from everyone. And we call that "Life". I sure as hell am not about to start giving my money to a gaming company, something I use as an escape, so you can do it too. If that is the new direction that Bungie is taking as part of its 10 year plan, you'll not only lose a fan, you'll lose a consumer. I hope I'm wrong. And I hope you guys prove me wrong with what you have planned for this game.
