for everyone trying to get the "husk of the pit"
Ok so, this is what I did to get that gun. I played "fist of Crota" on normal mode. I also had a black wax idol equipped. I just kept killing the blade of Crota that spawns as you run through that building past that screeching wizard bitch. If he doesn't drop it. Go to orbit and repeat the process. Took me 6 attempts. But it's random so it can take more or less attempts.
EDIT: id like to clarify a few things to help those still trying or gonna make the attempt. 1st, a black wax idol is not required to obtain this weapon. 2nd, there is no bounty tied to acquiring this weapon. 3rd. it seems to be more of a random award when defeating a blade of crota, either done through a patrol or this mission. 4th. you will need hive kills to unlock the upgrade that requires a embalming orb which upgrades it to legendary status and a whole new weapon, someone else posted proof that they had this legendary on the forums. one last thing, good luck to all those still trying, for RNG is a whore.

3 RepliesI played foc for five hrs today trying for the husk. This game is seriously about to get -blam!-ing old to me. My drops have been shit and its because i played a lot on my account. The more u play the more the game punishes u. It knows ur gonna keep playing and thats why. If u dont play alot itll reward u to give incentive to keep playing and after u keep playing ur time played goes up and ur drops go dramatically down. After the purple engram "drop more fix" i havent seen one. I did nightfall got eight ascendant energies. Beat the whole crota raid second time no gear and no weapons. Beat vog norm and hard no exotics no vex (of course) and its just getting old as hell to me now. The game thinks it knows that ill just keep playing like i have been in search for that magical vex or husk of the pit but what they dont know is im literally one empty raid away from quitting for good and picking back up bf4. Rng is the dumbest pile of shit to ever happen. Collect my tears -blam!- w ur fag game lingo. Idgaf. This game sucks. For real.

I've gotten one on each of my characters while I had the kill 3 hive blades bounty active and/or get 15 blade kills. I didn't have to do the fist of crota more than 9 times each. I might just be lucky as f**k

Got it from the first blade i killed on a spinmetal farming run. This was literally my first chance to even get it as i've been playing only raid and pvp lately.

I must of been lucky I've killed maybe 20 or so swords and I have two husks. Not that it matters chances are by the time I get Eris to rank three destiny 2 will be out

Ive beaten this knight on fist of crota around 100 times now. No husk of the pit. I now know for fact i am unlucky

2 Repliesit just seems like the rng favors bad players. all my friends that i have to carry in raids and crucible get good drops in the first try. i on the other hand have to carry and get nothing. 7+ hrs farming for this thing today, nothing. but another one of my clueless friends that can barely get carried though easy raid while over-leveled gets it immediately. bungie pampers bad players, whatever it takes to keep the shitty casuals playing, you buy our product and barely use our servers? we'll suck your dick. you play our game a lot? -blam!- you

You do not need to have the DLC to acquire Husk of the Pit. I don't have The Dark Below and I still got it from randomly killing stuff on the Moon. However, you do need the DLC to upgrade it. I'm pretty disappointed by that latter point, since I am stuck with Husk of the Pit until I get the DLC...
