RIP Iron Banner
For me at least. I'm not going through that hassle of regrinding my hard earned IB Rank of 4 again. I was really close to 5 last time and I was really hoping to be able to re-buy the boots and gloves this time around with 36 light. But upon seeing that my rank got reset down to 0 I am done. Not to mention the lie we were told about our IB weapons being able to re-roll them or what ever. I was thinking their damage could be upgraded to 331 but NOPE!. Still gonna keep my Jolders Hammer regardless but I am very disappointed with how this event was handled this time around. To those that aren't bothered by this I salute you but I am out.
Edit: I already acknowledged that my lack of participation on the forums is the reason why I was mislead. I still believe things should have been handled differently than what we got though.
Edit: Seems like the Trolls are starting to make their way here to post unoriginal *Tears collected* comments.

My legit question: if the rank wasn't reset, what would the point in even playing be? Just load up event, you buy your gear and move on? I understand the reset as it pertains to IB. Promotes actually playing it.

2 Repliesnot gonna bother with it myself simply because of the weapons being sold, the sniper is meh, and the auto is yett ANOTHER bullet hose, prefer my accuracy over spray enough bulets and pray it dies

I agree that they should have better gear though or more gear. Edit: before I forget, IB is a GREAT way to upgrade armor. I got the new raid gloves yesterday and got them upgraded to the chace of orbs if you melee a hive perk. You get quite a bit of exp.

I'm done too but for different reasons. Having two 31 characters there is no reason to fight for additional 33 light gear. The weapons look meh. The bounties are the exact same so it will be another Regime fest.

Edited by cusman: 12/16/2014 7:01:38 PMI think you are rightfully disappointed, but seeing the trend of decisions coming out of Bungie lately, I am not surprised the IB is another fail in Bungie understanding what their player base would appreciate. a) Reset IB Rank was known, but if its a new "event" with a new Rank reset, shouldn't it have new stuff? b) Nobody needs to grind IB for Light 33 armor c) Nobody needs to grind IB for high-glimmer cost items that don't even scrap for Ascendant Materials d) Nobody needs to grind IB for Rank 4 and Rank 5 IB weapons that have no future, and aren't better Oh people might have used the re-roll on their prior IB gear, to get those up to 33 Light or 331 Damage, even with the penalty of an XP reset. But I am sure anybody that bothers to try this out will find their weapon reset on XP, but still on original 300 damage. I don't think the armor even has an upgrade/re-roll option. About the only thing desirable to me in the IB is the Class Item which is locked away at Rank 4. I got the Titan the first time, the Warlock the 2nd time, and I might try for the Hunter this 3rd time... but its the same exact bounties to Rep up as well... all over again, the exact same. I also know its going to be the same exact ones each day until it ends. Don't Bungie understand? Expecting players to do the same bounties repetitively over and over and over? How lazy are these Bungie bum game designers?

3 PVP events, 1 PVE events. PVP event gives light 33. Rolled DLC item 331-->300 attack. More weapons, more gear, same vault space. Gear becomes static, endless shards sitting around doing nothing. Whoever is leading the design team needs to wake up. Don't let him drink at work, slap him til he's awake, or just hire someone else.

The trolls are every where, don't worry they always post on my topics too. Report them and ignore them. I totally agree that there's nothing to play for. Still I play IB just to see how my high level weapons reap people apart. Much more fun than normal crucible for me. Am I going to grind my rank up? No way but I get exp and have a fun time for a while.

1 ReplyI enjoy the Iron Banner the most out of the playlists. I don't play it for the armor as I'm already 31, I just play because it's fun. Also you're an idiot for thinking they should already give out free lvl 32 gear in the iron banner so fast already.

Soooo disappointed. Yea some ppl will be like cry me a river, but the joke's on them because they don't get decent loot either! It's like you saying, "Guys, all we have for dinner is lettuce. Mom burnt everything else!" and your brother saying, "Ha-ha, you have to eat lettuce!" like you're the only one it applies to.

7 RepliesHonestly, when I initially heard that the vendors were going to sell 33 light armor, I was concerned that it would make VoG irrelevant. Now I realize my concerns were completely misguided; it actually made 85% of the game irrelevant.
