You're walking around the tower. Picking up bounties, joining dance parties, cursing the cryptarch. When all of a sudden, the sky at the tower turns black. Red dots surround your radar. The speaker's voice can be heard. "Guardians the enemy attacks, defend our last hope, save our city." Fighting off hordes of enemies, coming at you from all directions, jumping from ships down, crawling over the railings trying to steal your light. Bosses and yellow health, panic and disarray surround you and fellow guardians. A public event at the tower. For is it not the last city on Earth? Why can we not defend i?

Edited by Hewgull: 12/16/2014 11:46:16 PMWhy not have a NPC you can talk to in the Tower to sign up for "Outpost Duty" or "Sentinel Duty". Then you could have a daily event to defend the walls of the city from attack.

I just want to patrol outside the walls of the cosmodrome is that too hard to ask for!?
-
Yea I've thought about this before myself it's a really good idea and maybe we could get radiant energy and shards from it
-
I think this is a great idea.
-
Its brilliant!
-
People have thought of this way before you
-
This would be epic! Fantastic idea
-
Too much fun. Activision won't allow it.
-
I would give the cryptarch a rare auto rifle to defend himself and tell him, "You always choose the strangest ones"
-
Kinda defeats the point of it being "the last safe city" right?
-
But there are times when there is only you at the tower
-
Edited by Tiny Baby Jesus: 12/17/2014 11:19:40 PMI love this idea. But it should be outside the city wall. There have been at least two posts on this very subject in the past.
-
Actually that's what banshee is for... He keeps them at bay with his arsenal of lv5 guns...serious tho great idea.
-
We could patrol the walls and pick up shifts like missions in the cosmodrome. There could even be turrets lined on the walls, and public events could be different raids of enemies attacking the area, "clawing at the walls of our city". We could get vanguard bounties on "patrolling city limits" or something. I just imagine 1000s of enemies attacking, guardians hopping on turrets and sniping hive, fallen, and cabal. I want dis. I need did in my Lief.
-
I like the idea, but the tower is too small. But right on the outside of the wall, trying to avoid hordes of foe from breaching it, yeah, that would be great.
-
Lol I can see it now. "Someone help the cryptarch, he's being torn to pieces!". Every guardian "ehh... He'll be aight"
-
let it happen at the tower so I can watch the cryptarch get shot to death or hopefully a blade of crota crushes him with the sword
-
As the Cryptarch shuts down the city defenses, turns all the guardians weapons into Strange Coins, unplugs Rasputin, and greets Xur and his fleet of darkness dropships into the Tower. Your option, jump off the side, throw a ball, or hold "square"/"X" to play as a defending mopping robot.
-
Can't be in the tower. There should be some kind of character you talk to like they're freaking out and trying to rally the troops and you talk to him and he warps you down to the city into the action
-
Maybe at the outskirts of the city but not the tower. As cool as it would be there are 2 problems. 1 the traveler is protecting the city and tower keeping the darkness away. And 2. If 6 guardians can go into the vault and take down the ultimate vex, 3 to take down the gardens heart, and 6 to kill a hive demi god, why on earth would any enemy be dumb enough to face all the guardians together
-
This would be awesome. It will happen.
-
Good one! But we all know us noobs would have to take the bench while Cayde, Shax, Zavala and Salidan throw down. Because that would be the ultimate.
-
I highly doubt this will happen. This will be entirely new and we know Bungie would never add that. They will continue to give us crappy 7 minute missions in areas we've already been to.
-
You cant even double jump at the tower...
-
Bump. Not an original idea but I like it
-
So are we defending the city?! Or Tower?! But no....we are not at that part of the story yet. The actual part where enemies finally reach the inner walls of the city is going to be towards the end of Destiny 2 or it's where we start off in Destjny 3.
