Issues I have with DLC and changes + suggestions on how to improve it.

Hey Bungie, I've played the DLC story missions and checked out the vendors' new wares, haven't dipped my toes into the raid yet. From my experience so far it's not bad, nowhere near worth what you're asking for it (especially outside the US!) but that's a different topic altogether. But it could be better. Here's some tweaks I think you could make to improve the way things are. Brace yourselves, text incoming! 1. Get On My Level So the required level to do Eris' story missions was 26 for me, with a level 30 hard mode. I've got two 30s and a soon-to-be-29 so I'm fine, but for newer players, those of a lower level or even those who just want to play the missions I feel this is too high an entry requirement. Why not add more tiers of difficulty like other missions have? Since players could dive in after finishing the initial story I'd have put it at about level 20-22 bottom tier. Story missions jumping so many levels from regular to DLC is only going to put some people off when they could be integrated seamlessly. 2. Strike Me Down The strike being a level 26 when selected from the map, when the next-hardest strike (Cerberus Vae III) is a level 18 when selected from the map? That is a HUGE jump. If I want I can actually play this strike on Weekly Heroic at a lower level than the regular strike! Isn't the point of Heroics that they're supposed to be harder? With this in mind, I'd lower it to 20 but let players select harder versions when picking it from the map. In fact I'd have harder versions available for all strikes, like in the beta. Base level standard strikes should not be harder than those in Vanguard Strike or Weekly Strike playlists. Also, why am I being given blue armour from a level 26 strike? This gives me little incentive to play this strike again. 3. Stock Exchange I see that the Vanguard and Crucible vendors have had their inventories replaced with sweet new armour and weapons. This is all well and good, but why not keep the old ones available as well? Upgrade their numbers to match the new caps, since the new weapons are not just upgraded versions of the old ones. While this applies to all Vanguard/Cruicble vendor weapons, let me use The Devil hand cannons as an example. As of The Dark Below, The Devil You Don't has replaced The Devil You Know in the Vanguard armoury, but their stats and vendor perks are different. Here are their stats with The Devil You Don't listed first and The Devil You Know listed second, Don't/Know: Rate of Fire: 32/22 Impact: 68/81 Range: 17/35 Stability: 41/42 Reload Speed: 53/33 Magazine: 5/12 So as you can see, the Vanguard hand cannon has been replaced by one quite different. I'm fine with new weapons being added, I'm not so cool with the old ones being replaced when they didn't need to be. In fact what I would like you to do with the previous gear, bring it back with their numbers upgraded, you have already done with faction gear. Go ahead, take a look. Faction armour isn't new, it's all the same stuff as before but with higher attack or defence+light stats. By bringing back older weapons in upgraded form you double those vendors' inventories for DLC owners and variety is the spice of life. Give players choice, if someone wants to rock The Devil You Know with 272-331 damage they should be able to. Plus, you want us all to look different? This expands the available armour. Also, if you're going to require a commendation to buy a weapon or helmet/chestpiece then you ought to reduce the amount of rep required to get one. Granting us ones retroactively wouldn't have hurt either. What about adding them as random Strike/Crucible postgame rewards? On a similar note, is VoG now dropping 272-331 damage raid weapons? If not then you should update that too. If you're not going to let us upgrade them then let us replace them with better ones. 4. Roc My Socks Off Now, it's my understanding that the Cryptarch Engram reward has been taken from Vanguard Tiger and moved to Vanguard Roc, however Vanguard Roc is only playable for DLC owners. Is that right? I would have preferred you left Tiger's rewards untouched and just improved the chances of getting better rewards from Roc. All you're doing is hurting the have-nots and if there's one thing I really don't think you should be doing it's taking away from them. Leave their rewards alone. Punishing people who have not bought your DLC is poor form, and moving their rewards to the DLC playlist isn't rewarding people who have either. Make it better for those that have, not worse for those that have not. If you made it this far, well done! That was an ordeal. But that's all for now, I think. I'd like to hear Bungie and other forumites' thoughts on this, as well as their own suggestions.

 • the vanguard and crucible quartermaster new armor is so much cooler looking than the boring faction armor, why would anyone bother buying it? why did the vanguard get new guns but the factions kept the same inventory but with higher levels? all vendors should have an exotic shard item required to upgrade those lvl guns too, i love my legendaries and dont want to see them expire, i agree that they should have increased the old guns lvl and add the new ones too just to give the game that sense of having options, multiple guns and perks that make your selection that more meaningful according to your play style. i just got this new Iron Banner armor, and in a week theres gonna be newer IB armor to buy all over? when i just reached lvl 4 weeks ago? unfair... keep the current IB rewards, and rank, and just increase the rank requirement for your newer DLC items. or instead of a faction shard to upgrade legendaries, why not make it that to update your legendary weapon to the new cap lvl base damage, you have to trade in a fully upgraded version to get a new higher based damage version that you have to rerank, nobody minds the grind as long as we dont have add a shard to the whole process...
