Well it's no secret that this story kinda blew, and it's unrealistic to expect changes to the entire plot, but what if they released some dlc in a while that was an AMAZING campaign, solo or with friends. There is so much to make a great story about and the campaign could legitimately take place before the collapse and show the original fight with the darkness. This makes no need for any story changes that are already in place. The gear and tech would be the same and would really give Destiny a true story that when playing with your own Gaurdian you could feel like you were truly participating, not just grinding to get gear.
