Bring back the old Vanguard armor!
The new Vanguard gear that came with The Dark Below looks cool and everything... but some of us prefer a certain style.
Me, I've gotten attached to my old [b]Armada Type-3[/b] armor for my Titan, and I really don't like having to swap for [b]Holdfast Type-3[/b] or [b]Molniya Type-0[/b] armors to get past Level 30.
Why get rid of the old armor completely? Why not include Level 31 variants of all the old Vanguard armors (Monitor Type-2, Armada Type-3, Dustwalker, Ghost Angel, Nerigal Savant III, Eclipse Maw IV) alongside the brand-new armors included in The Dark Below? Again, I'd much rather be able to buy a higher-level version of the armor I already have (which I like) rather than have to change to an entirely different style.
While they're at it, they should raise all the Raid gear from the Vault of Glass up to Level 31, at least. Otherwise any Raid gear from the Vault of Glass will quickly become worthless.

1 ReplyI don't care how old this post is, I only care if Bungie can brought back that sweat armor that we first had. I played the Beta so I know what I'm talking about, and I bought the game when it got out, and played since the, so I'm Old School like they say. I RREALLY WANT THIS BACK as many others too! Bungie is not fair I worked many hours to get to lvl 34 Warlock,now my cousin just bought the game a moth or so and he's in 32 with he's Warlock too, and he does not have any of the Expansion though, I mean that's not fair! I only want the old gear only for those who played it when it first came, and those who got the one of the first Emblems like: "Founder's Seal" ,"Sign of the Elders" and "Sign of the Founders". Now with the new Expansion House of Wolves we can lvl up the old gear with the Etheric Light. But now unfortunately most of the people like me had to dismantle that old are gear to have Ascendant Shard so we could upgrade the Raid gear, now we have a ton! Pls, Bungie put the old gear in the coming Expansion "The Taken King". Afterall is suppose to be an "Expansion" not a replacement. I hope this is seen/heard. If not I'll be pretty disappointed!

5 RepliesI still have the original dead orbit armor set. Gauntlets are exodus tho. Only because the spikes match the legs on the oblivion greaves. Looks real nice.

I miss the ghost angel armor for my hunter ;-; that was his very first legendary armor. I had to upgrade to get past level 30 nut atleast I was lucky enough to have a legendary engram drop me a ghost angel cloak. Now it sits in my inventory but seeing as cloaks will/might be have perks. I guess the changing cloaks for fun are over 😭

Its still possible to get the old stuff just harder now a lot harder lol if the armor your talking about is tdb dlc just do roc strikes if your lucky you can get from engrams it can still drop from those but only the ones from reward screen or from completing the strike everything dropped during the strike will be HoW stuff but the rewards will be tdb

I have my docter nope. Devil you know. And my unfriendly giant. And my ghost anger cloak but I really really miss the armor I would love to be able to have a shot to get it again.

Im a day one player, im a vet just as any other user with a Shadow Price or Devil you Know. I have Rosegold I shot at a cave for 2 hours, got a legendary engram, then got a blue. However I feel terrible I was never able to pick up the Warlock armor (i mained a hunter at the time) which looks sexy as hell! I had Dustwalker armor but deleted it for the shards, and now I have 200 of them :( That's why I want the vanilla stuff back, at least now that I have the currency to buy at.

They did the same thing again with house of wolves. As good ole Lemon Grab would say, UNACCEPTABLE!!! If we can manually update our armor to the new tier why wouldn't you let the vendors have a rotation of armor/weapon types throughout the week. Instead of ALWAYS the same gear. No matter what. I get it old armor is a mark for veterans, but that armor was made obsolete then the devs turned around and said WAIT! You can upgrade it now! Oh you already dismantled that vanilla stuff you worked so hard for? You wanted that design? Aw man bro sucks to be you. Nothing we're going to help you with though. Try the new stuff! Sure you might not like how it looks but HEY! it's re-rollable so it'll have the bonuses you want! Thumbs-up bro! Nevermind the fact that we COULD update the RNG to put them back in as drops, nevermind that we could make this into a sick throwback event, like Atheon's revenge or Battle of the Crucible's vaults or something cool like that. Nope. If you didn't get the armor you'll never get it. Period.

1 ReplyHow about they start a new vendor in the tower and offer the old armors for all classes (Vanguard Armor only) and rotate them once a week to a different set ("Vanilla" , DB and what will be The house of wolves when the new dlc comes out all upgraded to the current lvl) and the vendor can be put in the shack by the mail guy and the special delivery dude. It would bring more diversity and pride to the game and help relieve the pressure put on people by their other squad mates to sell their current oblivion armor from the vanilla days and maybe even offer a blacksmith with the ability to change the armor atributes to better fit people's weapon choices and playing styles. Any one disagree with that idea?

I miss dustwalker and ghost angel armor back when I was level 22 i never hade enough to vanguard marks . Why doesn't bungie make an event like iron banner were they have a throwback were all the vendors sell the vanilla gear
