To people that used to farm and sell materials.
This message is for the people that are complaining about not being able to turn in materials fore marks and rep.
If you're sad about them removing this then you're an idiot.
I will admit that I used to farm for materials to turn in for crucible marks... but that was before I bought back my gold membership.
Selling them is a huge waste of time. All you get is 5 marks and 25 reputation (plus a little bit of glimmer and xp).
That statement right there should explain why it's a stupid method.
If you don't understand then I will explain further:
Farming for 50 materials takes you about 30 minutes (20 if you're eficcient).
Completing a Tiger strike takes about 10-15 minutes, and you get just as much rep (or more if you've completed the nightfall) and you get 6 marks instead of 5.
Crucible matches take about 8-12 minutes and will yeild 2-3 marks and 10-25 rep (again more if nightfall is completed). Plus if you're on a good team you can get 6 marks and 50+ rep from 20 minutes. You also have a much better chance at getting items at the end than you do from farming chests (green items don't count).
In addition to the obvious effuciency of doing strikes and crucible, you also get a chunk of experience and glimmer when you finnish games. Plus it's a lot less repetitive and gives you more of a chance to interact with other players.
So please, quit complaining about farming, and get smart.

You seem to forget that you can also do missions and publics while farming. And again not everybody likes to PvP, so for them its the best way to get crux marks. But the most important thing.......who are you to judge other player's playstyle, there are people who seem to like this sort of things.

Some players, such as myself, enjoy the slow pace of patrol and resource gathering. It was a nice way to keep up with the game at a pace we enjoy, Key word, enjoy There were supposed to be many paths to the same goal, I'm glad that those who run nightfall, and strikes and raids don't have to farm anymore, even though it takes very little time or effort. But I counted on those materials for marks, and now a huge fun factor is gone. Yes, spending an hour, walking, on patrol, gathering a few hundred materials is actually fun to me I can run crucible, but it's not as fun We need something that gives us both fun and enjoyment

Lets assume that you're right, and that it's much easier to farm crucible or whatever to get your marks, ignoring all the people who dislike doing certain activities or playing with groups. I never farmed for materials to trade them in, though I've got nothing against the people that did, and I've got way too many materials as it stands. What the hell am I supposed to do with them? I've got more than I'll ever need to use for my equipment, and all I can do is trash them so the numerous stacks don't clog up my tiny vault. Lets say that there shouldn't be a way to trade them for marks, so be it. I don't agree, but so be it. There still needs to be something to do with them, short of farming and upgrading every single piece of useless gear that I can find.

2 RepliesWell, you still HAVE to play the crucible. The one who is stupid is you, hear that?! There are people who don't want to waste their time in crucible. I for myself rather farm for an hour, than play 30mins multiplayer. And I'm surely not the only one...
