  • *itll get better option* The game was agreeably over-promoted and pretty much shipped like Tyron Biggums jumped the bungie room and thought the hard drives were radios. While full content hasn't been... Well I don't really have time. They have been keeping things fresh with updates. If you think about it, each tried to address broad... Things minus the cryptarch (soooo much better alpha/beta). It's like an experiment we paid $60+ to join. From a kickstarter standpoint-- if my $95 doesn't return more than a disk copy of the beta (and rest of areas), Im going to be a wee bit pissed. Call of duty *sigh* has more story than this, Halo actually put out full chapters in a game- the questions we ask should not require strange coin answers. But admittedly I gave up on the actual story, the flow of it is still good. From a long term standpoint if this is just fine tuning the base for the rest (which honestly I'm sorry, think should be free. Where the F- is the snow?)- it should move like New York not Seattle rush hour. It feels like something's holding it back- what that is who knows- but in the meantime, it's a bit odd there are no player custom options for all the repetitiveness. Such as adding mission/strike difficulty buffs with friends or swapping modifiers out to either mess around/be the terminator, or increase the difficulty to add bonus XP (etc.) at end of match. Just don't want that #buyersremorse

  • The sad thing is that if you look at the launch trailer, there are dlc zones and places that aren't in the game. It just makes me sad that I feel like I got tricked into preordering and buying dlc.

I picked the disgusted option because for me this game has been utter shit. Is it a failure? Financially no, and with all the critical acclaim and awards it has received one could argue that it is far from a failure. However what they showed off, what they led us to believe would be in the game and the product I currently have occupying HDD space I am left feeling cheated and disgusted. I deleted it only to re-download it because I spent the money on the damn thing and committed to their "expansion packs" but after "House of wolves" or whatever the -blam!- it's called I'm done I'm over the game unless a drastic change is made. This is as much an MMO as GTA online is an MMO. They said we would have worlds to explore, you gave us Russia and not all of Russia you gave us a scrapyard and some dilapidated buildings. Last time I checked earth consisted of a couple more countries and continents. The story is -blam!-ing horrendous. I'm all for the chose your own adventure, give very little narrative to the player, let them figure out the lore for themselves story ala Dark Souls 1 and 2 but damn do they even -blam!- up their own lore. The "original" story they had in place sounded 100x better then what was presented and given the circumstances as to why it was changed and with this DLC coming out it doesn't look like its gonna get better. My biggest gripe that could easily be rectified is changing the God Damn Crucible back to Faction Wars because when you look at the description for the gameplay types why the -blam!- would dead orbit need new territory in a training simulator? At least change the -blam!-ing game descriptions then. There's so much more wrong with this game that's already been said its sad. They got the shooting down pat though I give them credit for that.

    • If this were a single player game I would have traded it in weeks ago. My raid team keeps me logging in.

    • I am extremely unhappy with the game I got vs what i was expecting to get based on bungie's pre release advertising and communication. I think there are things to like about this game. Gameplay mechanics, art direction, and music are great. Bungie has managed to build a world that has good atmosphere, and create a lore that is compelling (tho not in the game). Unfortunately the game design and execution are just so bad. The world that you actually play in is shallow and lifeless. The gameplay zones are too small and disjointed to create the feel of an open world. Enemies and public events respawning in the exact same places, and npc's that you can't talk to in game really hurt the experience. In effect, when playing the game it doesn't feel like I am running around in a "real" place. Lastly, the balance of grinding to actual content in this game is way out of balance. I see this as one of the bigger problems in the game. I personally enjoy rpg style grinding, but this game does not have enough actual content to back up how much grinding there is. The reward systems in this game are very slow, which would be fine except that there aren't enough unique places to go or unique things to do to keep pace with it. As a result the grind begins to feel very tedious. Strikes, bounties, dailies, weeklies etc start to feel like things you HAVE to do instead GET to do. Playing this game feels very similar to playing a FTP game that purposefully makes its grind so arduous that players are encouraged to buy "currency" packs to speed up progression. For me personally, i'd say that this game has about 20% of the content that it needs to back up all the grinding (tho this ratio will be different for different people). This is why people complain about the reward system in this game. Its not because they are "lazy" or "entitled" (I have seen this argument many times on this forum), their threshold for doing the same shit over and over again is just lower than others (thats not to say that its low). Unfortunately, the upcoming dlc seems that it will only compound this problem. Bungie is adding quite a bit of new gear, and giving players the option of resetting and remaxing exotics. This is a lot of new stuff to OBTAIN (ie more grind). But by only adding a handful of strikes and missions, plus the raid they are not adding a whole lot of new stuff to actually DO. By adding no new zones, and only opening a few blocked areas in current zones they also aren't adding many new places to go or explore. I foolishly pre purchased the dlc, so i'll play it and hope the best for it, but in all honesty I regret supporting this game and this company with my purchase.

I feel fu*ked by bungie. Been playing vault of glad dozen of times to get lv 30 gear and maxed almost all of my guns. Now with the new dlc all my loot I earned hard isnt worth anything anymore. You can simply buy all the gear from the venders and that's it. Also increasing difficulty seems to me artificial. Instead of making a more complex or longer raid its full of lv 31+ adds. Same with the strike. In my opinion it's a punch in the face for most gamers.

        • I think you need to have a choice that states your disgusted with game but dont have a choice to play others due to making good friends...... In the meantime is there any dad here on DOD that are or is an attorney? Can a lawsuit be filed against Bungie for having a game that content was removed so players that do not buy the expansion do not get to play the game? For example? Nitefalls and Heroics. Same goes for weapons and armor. Changes made to the game force players to buy the new content! Is that legal? I want to be the first to find out. I am going to contact my attorney. Just does not seem legal to me after paying for the game originally and then buying the expansion. Someone with any law background please respond.

          • That's a very biased survey. I'm not happy with the game and wish it were better, but I'm not sure i would say I'm "disgusted" by it. The way your choices are written kinda causes a positive response bias given that there's no middle ground option for people who dislike it but don't hate it.

            • I'm in between disgusted and hopeful. The Raids are the only thing keeping me going, and the only reason (besides maybe the Weekly challenges) that I get on the game at all. The Dark Below is significantly less content than it was worth, and THAT disgusts me and I feel, honestly, very taken advantage of. Crota's End is the only thing I'm truly going to enjoy, considering I finished the entire "story" of it in about an hour. Here's to hoping the House of Wolves has some more serious content, and not just two new areas and a Raid. Maybe it'll redeem the game. A little.

            • None of the above; I'm content with the original game and patches, warts and all. It had its ups and downs but was a fun experience overall. The Dark Below is looking increasingly like a cluster-blam!- though and that, along with persistent connection issues on Bungie's end, will likely drive me from the game eventually.

            • The big things I don't like about the game are 1-DLC requirement for the lvl 30 nightfall and weekly. I believe a lvl 28 version should still be available to non-DLC players. 2-No matchmaking for weeklies, nightfalls and raids? Who thought that one through? 3-Finding a team that is willing to help me do the exclusive lvl 26 strike for the Thorn. No one wants to do that one. 4-Getting a legendary package only for it to breakdown into two rare engrams. The Cyptarch has been more fair with me. Most of my other issues with the game have been addressed by DeeJ somewhere.
