After a long time of playing Destiny I am convinced the game was designed around a trading system. They even said it in a video showcasing co-op gameplay.
Now after numerous Nightfall Strikes and Raids I got an idea for a good and simple lootsystem. A bit like Borderlands so there will not be abuse of the system.
For normal lootdrops you can trade items with friends that are on a simular level. So you can trade normal legendary gear for legendary gear such as weapons and armor.
Raid gear can be traded for raid gear and so on. This way a person who gets (for example) the Found Verdict 2 times (yeah that happens a lot lately) at the Templar and already has it can trade it for a different raid piece within the same group or friends. Maybe a tradeloottable at the end of the raid is an option?
For exotic gear the same rule: only exotic gear can be traded for exotic gear. Players can also see the stats and perks of the gear they want to have and can judge at that moment if its a good deal.
It's just an example for something I think would work Bungie.
If somebody has a better idea with this system or a variation for it: go ahead. Something has to change because the lootsystem is clearly build for trading because it's so random like a casino.

I had the idea of a trading vendor that you trade weapons gear marks and glimmer with your friends I just hadn't know about this app I've had it for a long time
