The people who play Destiny are awesome.
Tonight, I came back to my controller after a break. My Warlock was where I left him, in the Tower enjoying the lawn near the Postmaster. Seated around him in a semi-circle were three other Guardians. I broke into a dance and they leaped to their feet to follow suit.
And, that's how I came to play a Raid with five total strangers. The simplest of interactions led to the most complicated challenge in the Director.
Granted, we had plenty in common. We were all veterans of the Vault of Glass, with the exception of the one among them who was being taught the art of raiding in Destiny. I followed their lead while they explained the basics. The front door was popped in no time, and we were on our way.
This was my (I think) 9th raid across two platforms - and the first time I had jumped into hell alongside unknown human elements. At every stage, patient tutorials were given. Death was met with words of encouragement and quick revives. These people were working together so well. Even teleportations that didn't go as planned were adapted to as they improvised to sudden shifts in battle conditions.
In the end, we triumphed over evil.
People like to talk a lot about this community. They say that we're toxic. They say it's too hard to find good allies. I don't believe it. I have invited many of you to play Destiny with me, and I've never been disappointed. Tonight, I accepted your invitation and it was awesome.
Certainly, we can always try to be a little more excellent to each other, but you don't have to travel too far to find great people who need friends to join them starside. Sometimes, they're staking you out when you come back from post-Crucible intermission.
Good games, wherever you are. Thanks for the boots and the shards.

I feel bad for you Deej...here you are congratulating the community in an excellent post that simultaneously hints you guys may have been mistaken about strangers playing the raid and all your worst nightmares about some of the negative aspects of this community come barging through. Please remember we are not all like them. Keep doing what you guys are doing and thanks for everything

I know this will recieve some hate but i would like to turn your title around. The people who make and maintain Destiny are awesome. We know you cant fix every problem every second wich is ok you guys are still human (hopefully). I along with allot of the community appreciate all you guys do by continueing to test our limits and presenting new challanges and ways to acomplish our goals. I look forward to diving into the Hellmouth in the dark below in order to once again protect the city. Sklez

Yes, it does benefit us at strikes but in raids? You clearly haven't raided before, most especially on hard If you want to have matchmaking. The amount of KTOs that you'll get. People leaving because of their lack of teamwork and such. The lack of communication with this type of thing. It won't work. This is why LFG works. They may be a buncha randoms but when you start with a fireteam found on LFG you are sure about what you're getting into. Not in the hopes of having to wish that you get matchmade with good group of lvl30s or so. Think before you guys whine. Matchmaking isn't there for a reason. These people that wants matchmaking are either too lazy to do it the better way or just lvl25 or lvl26s that wants to do the raid for "loot" without actually doing something. [spoiler]smh[/spoiler]

I agree with your overall message, as I have also met LOTS of great people in this game, with whom I play constantly now. PS. I do have to assume you played the raid on normal though, otherwise you'd have spent 2 hours wiping due to glitches and bugs at Atheon.

I've received many death threats, many people telling me to commit suicide, and many personal attacks. Why? All because of my opinion on Xur, which is that he makes exotics to easy and needs to be removed/changed.
