I was having a "civil" discussion with some of the older members around here about a certain off-site forum, and it led me to ask myself why I'm here.
After 8 years, meeting countless members (both good and not-so-good), 3 major exoduses, and innumerable, stupid little "wars," I'm still here. I have been banned 6 times, lost a great community when Thee Warriors faded, and have left twice; once from 2010-2012, and once from January 2014-June 2014. All of my friends, besides 3 of them, from my first stint on Bungie.net are gone.
So why am I still here?
The beauty of The Flood, and now #offtopic, has been our resilience in keeping tradition, staying the course, and staying interesting, all while keeping things fresh. While old friends will always move on, new friends come in to fill the void. I have The Friends List to thank for keeping me in touch with those who want to stick around, and I know I will always have #offtopic to go to if I ever need someone, because while I may get 100 sarcastic answers, I will also get a few people who care. We are the closest-knit public forum on the internet (aside from some furry page, or something of the sort), and we all have something here to be proud of.
TL;DR
So, #offtopic, why are you here, why did you come in the first place, and why will you inevitably be here in the future?

Edited by Weesil xD: 11/27/2014 9:04:30 PMWhy am I here? Because I like the community, not the "NERF EVERYTHING BECAUSE I'M BAD" part. The offtopic part. It's nice to actually talk to people about anything. ..And because I can post random pictures like that one and not get told to stop. :)
