"No voice due to NAT issues"

A bunch of players I've joined lately have mics but have this message displayed beside their name and I can't communicate with them. Anyone else getting this? Edit: I think this is mostly on their end, not mine. I may still look into getting nat type 1 for my ps4 though.

  • Couldn’t figure out how to fix so me and my mate just made a chat party instead of Just talking in game. Have a ps4 btw but I’m sure it works for Xbox

  • Hey there, This is typically due to someone in the Fireteam having a restrictive NAT. We have a guide on this here: http://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11931 Your NAT type may be entirely fine, and it could be that your Fireteam members need to change their NAT settings.

Getting this really bad, especially after adding a second PS4 to the network. It keeps telling us we have nat type 3, my system says type 2. I did everything possible to get type 1, and it won't work. So mad at this right now, I feel like smashing my crappy ps4, it's been nothing but a piece of junk since launch. My ps3 worked better on day 1 than my ps4 does now.

      • This happens to me and my bf when we try to raid together. We have 2 XB1 in the same house. It's fine for 3 man fireteams, not 6. I've heard it might be that our router/modem can't handle 2 consoles.

      • What modem do you use? Apparently some modems can't handle destiny.

          • A week after the update I began having headset mic issues, i.e., begins crystal clear in party and game chat then deteriorates into producing a bunch of noise that other players hear where I have to unplug it. In addition, my Kinect mic works in party chat but not game chat and right now with the lagging issues you cannot play Destiny communicating with party chat. I have also received the SATNET problem message at the stabilization step. I went through the laborious port-forwarding process which, at least for now, removed the message but I am still having the headset and Kinect mic issues. I suspect that these problems are a result of some bug introduced into my Xbox One by the Destiny update and the chat option, which most people don't use, in random strikes. Previous to the update I had no problems aside from the occasional kick. I love playing Destiny but the issues from the update are incredibly frustrating and the game had become a lot less fun to play. Really makes me apprehensive about the expansion pack.
