Here's To My Fellow Thorn Owners! [Now with Thorn Exotic Bounty tips!]

Cheers to everyone who completed the Thorn Exotic bounty and didn't bitch about the PvP part. Here's to you! Shameless Clan Plug [Thorn knows no shame!] You are all invited to join my newly created clan Thorny Guardians for a drink up and a Thorn-themed dance party! - http://www.bungie.net/en/Clan/Detail/511412 Also, there will be a brew off! See if the admins at Dernami or Apathy, clans that I have been with since the beginning, will let you join us too! Add me on PS4: DarkChildOfLight I'd also like to extend this invitation to the clans to those who are seeking help with this Exotic Bounty. Useful Tips 'A Light In The Dark' - Exotic Bounty - PvP Requirements: Earn 500 Void Points in The Crucible (Note: 500 points, not 500 kills). +5 per void kill. 0 points per normal (kinetic) / Arc / Solar kill -2 per death. Here are some tips - designed for a total PvP newbie - to make it easy for those who wish to join us Thorny Guardians for shots. I managed to get Thorn without having a K/D over 1.00 at the time. This bounty need not be a Thorn in your backside. PvP - My Super Good Advice To You The Biggest tip I can give you is this. A non-void kill is still better than a death... - Stay close to your team mates! Follow the crowd! Be the sheep! Go where they go and stop where they stop! Don't lone wolf unless you know what you are doing! If you run with other people there is less of a chance of you being killed and you avoid those 1vs1s, or worse, you being ganged up on! Your team mates may start to damage the enemy and you can deal the killing blow! Assists count as a kill, or close to it in points - so following your team like sheep is a HUGE bonus - Don't play rumble maps as it is MUCH harder to get "assist" points. Control is the best gametype for this bounty or Iron Banner, when available. - Patience! This may take a few hours, a few evenings or even a few days depending on your skill level in PvP. It is NOT impossible. You may just need to be more adaptable. As long as you have some radar awareness you will be fine. - Radar. Just incase somebody is really perplexed, here is a video that explains how the Destiny radar works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDumLvofnLc Radar II - Only aim down sights (ADS) when you need to. i.e. engaged in a gunfight. Your Radar will not be visible when you ADS unless you have an exotic such as the Hunter's Knucklehead Radar Helm (which only works for Primary - non void - weapons anyway). Radar III - If you crouch you will disappear and reappear on the radar at regular intervals. This can help to confuse the enemy as they may see you disappear from their radar and assume that you have been killed. Better players will realise that this isn't the case, as I will explain next. - Skulls. When someone on the enemy team dies a white skull will mark the location that they died at. Keep an eye on your surroundings for these as it is a good indicator of where the front lines are and where the danger is coming from if you are not close enough for your radar to pick them up. - Camping. In Destiny the Radar is always active! For everyone! You can't camp in the way that you would in other games but you can still camp. You just have to be smart about it. As you know by now, the radar has a limited range. The best way to camp is by using blind corners and small rooms. You WANT the enemy to come to you but you don't want them to know exactly where you are unless you are on a control flag or something. Use the radar to your advantage. - Headshots. Destiny PvP headshots are essential for precision weapons! If you can't score headshots then you NEED to use the Fusion Rifle or Shotgun and most likely the Rocket Launcher aswell. - Primary weapons deal Kinetic damage. You won't complete this bounty with kills from your primary. Unless you have some Void dealing Primary Exotic weapon that I don't know about. - Equip your best void special and heavy weapons. (Purple spiral symbol) - Image of Void symbol - http://i.ytimg.com/vi/uTLosBMLt3Q/maxresdefault.jpg http://i1.wp.com/planetdestiny.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/damagetypes21.png?resize=660%2C330 - All you need to do is keep a positive-ish K/D while getting Void kills. 5 points per void kill. -2 points per death. Neutral per normal kill. - The Warlock Melee, grenade and Nova Bomb (Void Walker Sub-class) deal void damage so its much easiest to do this as a Warlock. However, just because it takes longer with the other classes doesn't mean its not doable. It just means that you can't melee, nade or super to finish them off on this bounty. Do, however use your melee, nade or Super if it will save you from a setback. - Fusion Rifles. If you know someone is close then start charging your weapon pre-emptively. You needn't bother with ADS. It makes no difference either way as far as damage and accuracy are concerned. Aim for their center mass! If you can get used to this weapon you will find that it is more dangerous than a shotgun. The giveaway is that your enemy can hear your weapon charging up so timing is crucial. - Snipers. One shot kill to the head. Two shots to the body. Make your shots count and equip the low zoom scope! When you aim down sight with a sniper rifle your enemy can see a red laser. This is why they won't keep still when they see you targetting them. If you are having trouble sniping an enemy on the move then consider: a) raising your agility (class build) b) raising your movement sensitivity c) changing your scope d) sniping from further away e) using a different special weapon - If you want to rush go with a void shotgun or fusion rifle. You can one shot up close with the fusion or you can melee then shotgun for the finishing blow. Melee attacks do not kill in one hit when the enemy is at full health. The exeption is Shoulder Charge and Blink Strike from behind with the perk. Neither of those will help you with this bounty though since they deal Arc damage. - If you want to take it slow you can use any special weapon. Snipe from the back. Camp corners with the shotty or watch tight corridors and passes with the fusion rifle. - Class build. If you've been doing alot of PvE you may need to take a look at your class build to make it suited to your playstyle in PvP. If you are using the shotty or fusion rifile then you want to focus on Armour and Recovery. If you are sniping then you want to focus on Agility. - Titans. Use the Defender Sub-Class since Fist of Havoc is Arc and won't help you. Plop a Ward of Dawn Bubble down on the B flag on Control when your team are capturing it. Use a Void Shotgun. Anyone who comes into your bubble will be toast to your shotgun! The other team won't be able to do much unless the use a super on the bubble or inside of it. Have fun with this! - Hunters. Use the blade dancer Sub Class. Remember that there is a huge delay on activation so don't activate it when the enemy is in your face. Rather anticipate that you are going to be overwhelmed and activate it while in cover. Use this super defensively when you feel you will be outmatched. Your goal is to stay alive and remove the immediate threats. Staying alive is technically helping you on this bounty but getting 15 arc blade kills won't help you to progress since it deals Arc damage. - Invisibility. You should be aware that there is still a blue shimmering outline around you that people can see when you are invisible. You need to crouch and not move for it to be fully effective. - Rocket Launcher. Go with one that holds two shells and has good area of effect. Don't waste time by ADS. Fire from the hip. Aim at their feet. Consider jumping first so you avoid blowing yourself up (if time permits). - `Special Ammo. Pick it up, unless you have more than enough! - Heavy Ammo. When Dinklebot tells you Heavy Ammo is coming you get yourself to that spot! Don't waste time, this is basically Void bonus mode! Just try not to die getting to it. - Heavy Ammo II - If you die with Heavy Ammo you will lose it when you respawn. If you kill someone who had Heavy Ammo you can pick it up! MAXimise your kills when you have Heavy Ammo! Don't put yourself at risk! There isn't a timer on it! There is only a penalty for death and a loss of Heavy Ammo for dying. - Heavy Ammo III - If you are a good shot then go with the Machine Gun. You'll get more kills for your ammo. If you are a bit more panicky, inaccurate and / or trigger happy then go Rocket Launcher. Be sure to have your Heavy Ammo weapon loaded before you run into an enemy! If you pick Heavy Ammo up from a crate it will load immediately. If you picked it up from the ground you will have to manually reload your weapon. PvE - Xyor, the Unwed [Single because of his bad breath!] - The person who is doing the bounty has to activate the mission as the fireteam leader! - Be at least Rank 24. - This is a special level 26 mission. - Don't go solo! If you need some friends to help you out then ask in this thread or join my clan Thorny Guardians. We'll get you there! - The easiest way to do it is to stay in the back of the cave where the shrieker spawns. Just keep an eye out for when it spawns and get behind the wall. Don't kill the shrieker! Just stay alive. Xyor will appear with the 2nd, 3rd or 4th Hive Tomb ship. He will come to the cave eventually. You need to kill the hordes to get more tomb ships to come. It also helps to damage Phogoth to below 50% health. - The Wizards are weak to Solar damage (Fire symbol) - The Knights are weak to Arc or Void (I can't remember which)

 • For people who say they like the thorn you guys must really suck.. with regular weapons.. because you need an OP weapon to be able to do anything. Wow and telling people to boost your even worse then I thought. Wow kids can't play games like I used to. no skill in this generation no skill you guys wouldn't last on digdug or centipede or any of the old arcade games. Oh that's right because there is no OP weapon to choose from and you can't hack an arcade system.. No skills in this community no skill
