Why people still play destiny.
There is a very simple reason players still play Destiny. It's because it is an advanced Skinner box, designed to encourage people to perform the same monotonous tasks in hopes of getting a reward. This false sense of achievement works very well. Don't believe me? Well try the game in the link I posted above. It's another Skinner box, but the only difference is that you are garenteed the reward if you work for it. Cookie clicker is also a better game than Destiny because it never lied about what kind of game it is.
So basically, those of you who play this game are just mice to bungie. They are training you to do these tasks in hopes of being rewarded. You will buy their DLC because you can no longer think for yourselves. You will be satisfied with doing more monotonous repetitive missions in hopes of more rewards...which may or may never come.

What would you say is more at the heart of Destiny's pull: operant conditioning or classical conditioning? I see the reward system clearly, but this particular experiment is devoid of any clear punishment system, which isn't a requirement of a true operant conditioning apparatus (Skinner didn't like these experiments to be named after him), but is frequently found within the Skinner Box. Also, I feel like having a KFC Dinner Box.

If people who play this game are enjoying it,killing time, or just occupying themselves because of lack of anything else to do, then what does it matter what kind of game it is? This May or may not be understood to some people but it makes since to me.... I dip, yea that nasty stuff you spit. I have for about 4 years now I started right after I graduated highschool when I got shipped over seas with the army. I have no need to do it now but when I'm not I have no idea what to do with myself. I either have to chew gum or a straw or something but if it fills that void then who cares if I'm addicted or it's not good for me or whatever. It satisfies me in my own way. Probably doesn't make since to a lot of people but it does to me. The game is fun and satisfying and it fills a void in downtown or boredom
