PS4 - Looking for casual players that want to run the Raid fresh with no pressure.

News: Good news! The Goon Dock Saints UK is now up and running for those players "across the pond". If you are a UK player, and are interested in the Goon Dock Saints, please check them out! Update: The group "The Goon Dock Saints", which was formed as part of this thread, just made weekly popular status! It is filling up with casual gamers wanting to form laid back groups to tackle raids, daily strikes, weekly strikes, etc... Consider joining or following. OP: I am a casual player with a wife and two kids. I play for a couple hours, several nights a week to unwind. I am a lvl 29 Hunter and I like playing Destiny, when I get the chance. The one thing I have not completed to date is the Raid. I really want to complete the raid, and I think there are others out there like me as well. I think the experience was different when the Raid first came out, as groups were forming and learning the Raid together. I want to recapture that. TBH, I have tried clans, posting on LFG threads, and asking folks in the tower, and have failed miserably. Folks now are wanting a specific type of person to run the Raid in hopes of getting equipment. I am not knocking this, but want to still experience the Raid the way players did months ago. So I am posting this thread. If interested in what I am saying below, please post your PSN ID and I will add you, or you can add me: PSN: MojoBi. Looking for casual players that want to run the Raid fresh with no pressure. I will compile a list and try coordinate days/times/etc. Specifics: PS4 / Should be at least lvl 26 / Reasonable time zone proximity (I am Texas – Central) / Some maxed weapons and armor (Raid will help with this) / Willing to be patient and tackle the Raid from the beginning, letting everyone learn. I’m thinking we can all work through the Raid together like Noobs. Discuss strategies for each stage, talk about play times up front so no one feels guilty about having to leave after 2 hours, talk about what Mic/Headphones work best (so we can add to present wishilist), talk about what weapons work best, stop and watch youtube videos when we get stuck, leave off one night, and continue later on, actually let everyone practice with the relic, nuke a Gorgon to get the Grimoire card, etc... This could possibly be the start of a clan, and hopefully we can carry this over and be ready to do the same thing for the next Raid when the DLC drops. EDIT 1: Having a mic is probably a necessity, even if it is just iPhone headphones at this point. I personally am hoping to get a good set for Christmas. Better than more neck ties, I think. EDIT 2: Bigger response than I expected! I have set up the group "The Goon Dock Saints" so that we can coordinate the formation of groups Please go to Bungie.net and join the group, so that you can be part of the conversation. I tried to friend request everyone, but if I missed you, please join the group and I'll catch you. Also, I encourage you to friend request others on the list, which will make group formation from within the game SO much easier. EDIT 3: RAID Tonight (Normal)(11/26/14)(9:30pm Central Time) EDIT 4: Raid was fun last night. I know I finally got to learn how to use the relic. This thread has gotten so large, it won't be as effective anymore for forming groups. Please join or follow "The Goon Dock Saints" if you are still wanting to find groups with folks that think like the original post. It works. I played the raid last night with a great group! EDIT 5: This has made the Highest Rated list, and I know folks are still posting here. I can't keep up with this post but am keeping the clan: The Goon Dock Saints up and running. Consider following or joining. Everyday folks that started on this thread are finding groups, running the raid, and having fun. I've done it myself. Great for newbies of the raid, or for veterans that just want to help!
