Real Life RNG, Will your luck be better IRL? HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY!!!

!!!WARNING: BE ADVISED, THIS IS NOT A TROLL.!!! I will be giving away all kinds of gifts starting in the month of December. I have been fortunate enough to be blessed with great family, friends, and gifts throughout my life. I believe it is always good to give back to the world as I have received plenty. This post in not directed at the "less fortunate" or the "More fortunate", it is based only on luck just like Bungie has designed Destiny. I wish to not hear about how some people are more deserving or less deserving, therefore my method evens the playing fields. I have no choice on who receives the gifts (Other then, I will not include names of negative comments or nay slayers), or which gifts they receive. I personally feel like many people lose sight of what the holidays are truly about. Besides the religious aspect, which I will not get into. Holidays are meant to bring people together, have a good laugh, and simply enjoys each others company. Whether it be with friends, family, or random people you just met. Everyone deserves to have an outstanding holiday. The way this will work is simple. I have 5 gifts currently wrapped for delivery. Each item is wrapped in the same size box as the other gifts. Although weights are different, Once I mix the boxes up I will not know which items are where. The gifts range from Gift cards to electronics and a couple of random items in between. All of which can be used on a daily basis or used to purchase what it is you crave. By posting a comment below with relevance to the holidays, destiny, or simply stories of great times. I will pull your name from the forums, write them on a piece of paper, and drop them into a box. I will also have a box with the numbers 1-5 labeled on a piece of paper. Once the time limit for the giveaway is over, I will be drawing names and numbers. I will pull 1 name from the box, followed by a number. That will be the gift you receive. After you have been chosen. I will send you an email ON THIS WEBSITE, requesting information on where to send the package. If you decline, I will draw another name. If you do not answer in 3 days time I will draw another name. Negativity will not be tolerated and those names will be excluded from the drawing. Lets regain that holiday spirit that many individuals lose sight of, and hope everyone has a blessed, safe, and happy holidays!!! The give away will be ended on December 15, 2014 when the servers reset. This gives ample time to receive the gifts before Christmas. Post away guardians!! Edit: Thank you to the few that have posted comments to get this thread started!!! Make sure everyone tells their friends who play destiny, or just browse the forums! I can only hope more people have a chance to receive a gift! Be sure to positive feed this post so that more people get the chance to see it, thanks again! Edit: thanks for the continued support. I hope more people read this thread and post, please bump and you can, and advise all your friends to post a comment as well!

    • Well actually both. Most things will be 50/50 of getting something I want from my family or I can just buy it from Xur-azon. However, you can rely on relatives for RNG. I might just be a dad titan that keeps greeting a pair of shoes instead of the shirt I really need while drinking The Nog of Glass.

    • Hmm...a good Destiny story huh? I remember my first time playing Destiny, my buddy and I were racing to see who could beat the story missions. I didn't know where he was because we left party chat, anyway we were going all good and I ran into a public went right when I landed on Mars, or at least after the first mission because you're secluded when you first land, I went and activated it and within a few seconds enemies bombarded me. I fought and fought and another guardian came to help, we fought and fought and won the event. After it was all over we both looked and did a good old fashioned wave...looked at his name. It was my buddy whom I was racing with. We looked at each other for like five minutes. Why? I was laughing so hard, pretty sure he was too. We both hopped on our Sparrows and continued the race. I won by the way. Anyway, that's my cool story from awhile back.

      • Pretty blown away by this. I mostly see toxic threads about Xur selling somebody's favourite gun or 30s being elitist douches, but this is a welcomed change of pace. Happy holidays I guess.

Respect, brother. It's nice to see someone inject (no pun intended) something into the forums other than venom. PS: No need to put my name in the pot. While I appreciate it, I prefer other folks to get gifts.

              • Great holiday post. I've been in the holiday spirit since early last week and have decorated my home and cube! I love this time of year! My best experience with Destiny has been the people I've met. It seems each multiplayer game brings one or two people into my life who add to it in a great way, and this one seems to bring a new friend every couple of weeks to the fold. I'm grateful for the great individuals this community has to offer! Merry Christmas to you my friend!

                  • My story of Christmas is a simple yet familiar to many I used to work at a grocery store and helped people out to the best of my ability and during the holiday it can be difficult for many. For one family in particular a few weeks before Christmas an older woman came into the store and brought a turkey from the freezer section along with some other Christmas dinner necessity's she brought it down my lane I happily greeted her and helped check out her groceries. Everything seemed fine until she went to pay she could not afford the turkey on top of the other food. Me as a person who knew what was happening simply smiled and said merry Christmas as I pay for her turkey. She said god bless you and I finished my work day easily. As I went to drive home it was snowing pretty badly and as I was driving another car slipped on black ice and swerved in front of my lane I hit my brakes as fast as I could and stopped right before the other car had a chance to slam into me it was an act of pure chance but I like to believe it was good grace given onto me for doing good that day I trust in doing good will let you receive good back. My Christmas was perfectly fine from what could have been a much different event.

Santa, I didn't know you played Destiny. By the way, my son wanted to thank you for listening to his Christmas list Tuesday - you really made his day! Super cool idea!!! Christmas story from my childhood: I grew up in a very large family (1 of 7 boys) and, as you would imagine, my folks couldn't get us much for Christmas. One year all of us boys made one Christmas list: a Nintendo 64 with Mario 64. It was the year that it was released and we wanted it badly. We all signed a 'contract' that stated that would all would share the N64, never fight or argue over it (we made a playing schedule) and would always complete our chores before playing the system. Our parents were surprised and, honestly, we were too because we loved to kick each other's arse - it was our favorite past time. On Christmas day, we all woke up, took the customary showers (for pictures) and sat quietly around the tree. We were all given a present and told to open them at the same time.....when we did, we found that we each had a N64 controller in our favorite color. We flipped out but quickly regained our composure when a second present was given....again, we were told to wait and open at the same time. This time around, we were each given a game (I recieved the Star Wars bounty hunter game)....the ecitement was insane. We would easily put any person from New Jersey to shame with the amount of fist-pumping that was going around. Then came the news - the stores were all sold out of the console....but we would get one as soon as they hit the shelves. We were so pumped we had to be kicked outside because of the craziness..... Turns out we had one last surprise.....when we were called back in, the TV was on and Mario 64 was on the screen. We were so shocked.....there it was, the console of our dreams....ON AND PLAYING! We quickly established the game schedule and watched on, waiting for our time to play.....best Christmas ever!
