why this community has become toxic
No matter what you post on here people will bitch, no matter how compelling the argument, people in this community will bitch about it. Even if they agree, they will find something to bitch about like grammar. Yet the only reason 98% of them are actually utilizing proper punctuation is because of google. I could post "hello" and there would be a storm of -blam!-ing trolls and people who want something to bitch about in life like flies on shit. I'd say that about 80% of this community is under the age of 20 and those who aren't just come on here to troll and complain for no reason.

I feel the same way and would be a hypocrite if I said I didn't take part in the hating, but the reason I spend as much time on the forums as I do in the game is that there is a lack of content in Destiny that was promised at release that is poisoning the community and until it has been enriched (if possible at this point) nothing will change!

I think alot of it stems from the competitive nature of Halo and its hold overs..... Ive always played PS, and I've found the community is less competitive with each other and more chill than most Xbox friends I had dating back to High school. Maybe it was the ranking Halo had online that bred this ultra aggressive type of gamer.... PS never really had that ultra competitive original franchise...

4 RepliesThat's what you get when Bungie makes a game for the T crowd. You get immature kids that think everything they don't get the first time isn't fair. Kids these days want a trophy for everything, and they don't know what grinding truly means. But I remember a month or so ago when this forum was actually constructive. I would find myself constantly scrolling through the feedback section and feeling excited about the ideas I was reading about, and imagining how the game could be with those ideas implemented. But now it's a completely different atmosphere. I very rarely find a good post that hasn't been "blamed" up by 13 year olds that do not know how to have an intelligent conversation. It's just sad.

It should make sense to you if you notice this trend of pissed of gamers. How could they not be, nobody is listening to anything we say lol Which is why this community is now intoxicated, because bungie, the devs and deej do not want to take what we say into account. They have not addressed the most painful and stressful issues with this game (including bugs, glitches, lag, story, lack of lore and it goes on) without it involving payed content, which is blasphemy. I am not one bit surprised this forum has turned into what it is today, bungivision did this to themselves, they lost alot of core gamers that are fed up with getting phuked by that long dick known as DLC. In its own nature, that makes this entire game toxic, hence the community. - some stoned gamer

I feel differently. When I first joined these forums, about midway through September, I thought that Bungie was about to be burned to the ground, and all of its employees lynched in the streets. Things seem to have calmed down quite a bit. Sure, there are still trolls, but there always will be. Yes, people complain, and some, if not most, have never learned how to have a constructive conversation. That's because people are emotional creatures, and most of the posts you read are written by people in a high emotional state. It's more likely that people will post complaints after reaching a certain level frustration rather than waiting until after they have considered the problem. But even with the frustration that is inherent in most threads, I still see people trying their best to defend, and explain, why they feel the way they do. That shows, to me at least, that the majority of the communty is doing more than complaining just to complain. They're doing their best to have those constructive conversations, even if they might not know how best to do it, and they're willing to wade through a flood of trolls to try.

3 RepliesI feel similar, I really enjoy playing destiny, I feel like I'm actually a badass warlock, or hunter fighting to save what is left of earth. I come to the forms to see what people are talking about and 90% of the time they are ragging on the game about how unfair it is or how something OP, and how 20 bucks is too much for a DLC. 20 bucks for a DLC that you will put at least 15 hours into is well worth it! I feel that theres always something out there that counters something that seems "OP". To me it just means that you might have to switch up your playing stlye and tough it out. This is a game that is in a league of its own in what they are doing and people think that it's suppose to be perfect. I don't count of engrams to give me legendary or exotic drops, yea it's sweet when it happens, but if you solely rely on that, of course you're not going to have a fun time playing. You have to actually work on everything. I am a casual gamer that plays 4-6 hours at night when I'm taking care of my 9 month old son.(which is rough at times to even play) I have 2 characters that are lvl 28+ and plenty of guns and armor to help me get through everything. It's just irritating when i get on the forums and all I see is negative things about this game when in my opinion it's been one of my favorites in quite awhile.

If you don't want to read post about people complaining or listen to trolls then don't read them it is really simple... Ignore the trolls and get over it. Or do you want bungie to protect you from a minor annoyance?
