What do I do with low level legendary armor now?

Yes I can scrap it for shards... Ok thanks everybody. I would like to keep some of my legendary armor. Will there ever be a way I can upgrade it? Has bungie ever commented on upgrading armor in the future? I would like to keep my justicars hood. If I can't then what's the point? I'm beginning to feel that the leveling system connected to armor is kind of pointless. If I can't wear the stuff I want and still maintain a high level then... Or I guess I just have to wear the same raid armor as everyone else. Oh and what's up with the shaders still not changing after the patch?
