I cant stand raid "pick up" raid groups....

90% of the time I come to bungie.net to find a raid group, teamates expect to be carried with little contribution. It does not matter if they are 29 or 30, there is no screening progress for "teamwork" or coordination. Just 2 rogue teammates (sometimes one) can prevent a succesfull raid and waste time/energy. The worst part is the effect cascades into people dropping out one by one due to frustration, then the cycle continues as we search for new teams... I think there needs to be some kind of "raid score/evaluation" where unhelpfull teammates and quiters could essentially become blacklisted (or at least make everyone aware of their tendencies). Until then, I guess I will just have to miss out on a few weekly raids if im not online when my raiding friends are. Post your thoughts.

  • I've had both my worst raid and my best raid (time wise) with a LFG.net group. Some people are just stupid.

    • Never had trouble with this. True there has been the occasional annoying kid, but all in all I've had mostly good groups. I only raid with randoms.

      • I've spent an hour an Atheon with a team of only lvl 30s. Seriously, for some reason everyone on the Xbox One sucks.

        • I had a couple ransoms join once that said they had lots of raid experience. Let's just say that they didn't do shit during conflux/oracle/Templar. But the part that pissed me off was it took them 10 minutes to get to the hidden chest. Wtf?

Never had a problem with that to be honest. Only time I rage quit a Raid was when I was doing it with a group where half the team never completed it. They had no clue how to even activate the Spire and the guys that did the Raid before got so pissed after 10 minutes of shooting Pretorians that they bailed. If people were honest about their Raid experience, this wouldn't be a problem at all.

        • Most pickup groups can at least get you past the Templar. I've only been part of a couple that fizzled after Templar due to inexperience/quitting due to frustration.

        • So you want an "honor" system where a rating could tarnish someone's character. And you don't foresee that being abused... Kick out useless scrubs, it shouldn't get any more complicated than that. Invite others to fill the spot.

        • I agree totally, but I had to laugh at the "waste time/energy". Energy? Really? Are you doing squats while playing?

        • I ask everyone how they do the gatekeepers...if everyone says they do it 1 at a time I leave. Thats a good indicator about how confident they are in their own game

          • Are you on Xbox? I keep hearing about pickup group nightmares, but on PS4 I have never experienced this. Literally every week I run VoG, Weekly, and Nightfall with randoms and I don't think I have ever once had a bunch of noobs in my party.

            • on PS4? add me up, I am decent at raiding. I say that having done the raid quite a bit but I'm sure someone is better and I can always improve my game. Whatever, PSN: Pizzaman725, I usually raid around firday or weekends EST so if your on I'll gladly run it even if I have done it.

              • I've had the same experience with some groups. But the two groups I run with regularly now I found as a random. There are some good ones out there.

              • 2 things: 1. In a pickup group, kick the leeches. 2. An evaluation system would be too easy to abuse. Basically kick the problem out before the problem spreads. You can only be patient so long, don't allow them to continue to leach once you notice it starting.

              • I have usually been lucky with the random raid invites. Until yesterday I ran into a group who acted like they were the best and did hard on atheon. Since I had no mic they would blame everything on me... They blamed me twice for not killing the oracles or picking up the shield when I wasn't even teleported.. it was ridiculous, if anything I was the one doing the most out of anyone each time.. I will be avoiding groups that have kids whose balls haven't dropped yet.. helps that you can tell it by their voice..

                • I seem to do better with random people I meet on Xbox. We killed Atheon in 3 tries, while groups I put together take like 20 tries

                • I wont attempt a raid until i spend some serious time watching the youtube vids. Then hopefully get in w a good experienced group so i dont make many mistakes. I feel that if you dont know it before you attempt it or aren't that good yet then you should at the very least let the entire team know. Then they can decide to keep you or let you go. It's pretty simple. I was invited to fireteam and spawned in the raid yesterday. I said wtf to the dude who invited me, i dont know this/that! The group was as you described: one guy was sort of the leader but it wasn't structured or planned out well so everyone dropped out. Not a surprise drop, we just all agreed that it would be a waste of time.
