The Wrong Way to Send a Raid Invite

So I'm in the tower turning in my bounties before changing characters to go play some IB when I get a message from a random 29. All it says is "VOG hard?" Since I've already beaten the raid on hard on all three of my characters this week I replied with a simple "No". Now I always get a little depressed when I see another message coming back after that response. Most of the time, the follow up is, "why not?", which is a really dumb question to ask. What are you going to do when I tell you that I've already done it? Change my mind? If someone declines a raid invite, suck it up and move on. The forums and destinylfg exist for a reason. This particular 29 in his infinite wisdom sent back the following "i love u 30s u think your better but your not u were a 29 once". Don't assume what other people's motivations are. Don't antagonize or provoke someone you're asking to help you. And FFS people, please try to exercise a little civility both on the forums and in game. I promise you will get much better results.

 • I've recently turned 30 following the gauntlets from this week's Raid and I have to say, even though I'm not a true 30 (still need Raid helm) I still feel an overwhelming sense of self righteousness and superiority to <30s. One thing I've taken to doing recently (which is kinda cool) is to send out messages in the Tower saying: "Raid pls?". People then either join or invite me to their Fireteam, but the one thing in common amongst every group I've done this with is when we're Orbit selecting the destination, someone always says: "I'm so glad we have a 30 in here to help us". At this point I then interrupt whichever rude, waste of space <30 is talking (All <30s take note here, if you're going to talk about a level 30 who is in the group chat - don't, you have no need to. Either directly address the 30 beginning with "Lord..." or don't mention him/her at all) and say "oh, you're all not level 30? I better go... I shouldn't have to carry you through normal Raid, I'll be getting like 600+ kills and 200+ revives whilst you're all getting 70-90 kills and dying like wasps every time you shoot an enemy. Go and find someone around your level who will lead to guys actually playing a part in killing Atheon." I then just leave without another word, head back to the Tower and repeat.
satire - pls forgive me
