Should Gunsmith be used to reforge weapons similar to the way Iron Banner weapons are?
It would give the gunsmith some business, and give us something worthwhile to use our Motes for.
Also would give me a reason to have more than one type of the same gun. I usually just dismantle ones with worse stats to save on space. It would be fun having an Ice Breaker of each element.
Edit: Legendary weapons only....ignore my greedy Ice Breaker comment.
Edit 2: Maybe make it just one reforge session per weapon..once you leave the vendor after reforging, that gun can't be reforged again.

1 ReplyI'd imagine they have some sort of plan for this. Right now we are just collecting and learning how the different weapons work. Adding reforging across the board would be confusing to some. I think it's a good test to see how it turns out in-game by doing only IB weapons first.

1 ReplyWould be cool as hell to have a kinda crafting system for guns. Not a full on crafting system but say higher tiered guns by a combination of various guns. Like combining fate bring and last word for a higher tiered weapon with a combination of both guns perks or a better mixture anyway. I dunno the guns well enough to give an example.

4 RepliesHow about a single reforge per week per weapon, 4 motes of light each, legendaries only. Then you have the option of finding perks you want and not over killing it.

2 RepliesOr maybe allow us to find parts to build our own guns from scratch my thoughts were getting parts for the weapons from tiger strikes and PE only. pay motes to create them and the perks be random no 2 guns alike. Had to add my 2 cents. [spoiler]great idea by the way[/spoiler]

I just used 20 motes to get the IB fusion rifle to have Void damage....I don't even care about the other perks at this point lol. But I had to farm for glitter to get all the IB stuff...it kept me busy and with a purpose (game wise). I could see myself spending a lot of time to get notes to reforge....considering I had over 40 before IB and now I have none.

1 ReplyHm. This would certainly give poor Banshee a purpose aside from a few exotic bounties. Sounds like it would have to have a few caveats and fine print though- probably no exotics and rares. I could easily see people spamming this too to get the uber perks for everything... but then that possibility exists with IB as well. Good idea OP. I like it

I don't think this'll happen. Might make certain guns unstoppable. The countless combinations scream for Bungie to nerf.
