MIDA Multi-Tool's Compass and Loot finding.
MIDA Multi-Tool has been in the heart of debate lately, after being sold by Xur for 23 Strange Coins. A conspiracy has arose about its secret ability to find loot.
I have heard several different scenario in which it is said to be able to find chests and resources in PvE by the point of the compass or glowing when a chest is in its sights; or it pointing to Dead Ghosts, to it pointing to ammo crates in PvP. Others dismiss it saying it just points north. What do you think?

Don't think it's a compass, it's a stellar sextant. Which would be for navigating or measuring the distance between stars But it would be very easy to give it a loot finding upgrade later down the line

It cost 23 because it was a primary not because it may have a loot finding property.

In one test it took me straight to that gravity well, Terminus area that people found a way to glitch into pre-DLC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtf3NlYhB_U I went all around that big light spire thing and the arrow kept pointing straight at it. That suggested to me that it wasn't just pointing north in that case. I also followed it underground from the Shattered Coast, to the Ishtar Academy, to the area the Nexus mind strike starts at. That's north east, so maybe it was just a regular compass that time? Another time it just kept pointing straight out to sea, and though I can't be sure, I don't think I was facing North at the time. I think I was facing South, South East.

Its just a compass just like the Suros Regime. I've tested the loot finder theory for a while and its completely false. Absolutely nothing other than points north.

Nah this consipracy pre-dates xur selling it by a loooong way. Its also complete rubbish. I've had mine maxed for a while, it does no such thing.

It's bullshit. If someone that owns it has half a brain then they would know it doesn't do anything but brings you to your death when you run off the map. It literally has no function at all. This was my first exotic I found during the first week of Destiny. I've found 5 so far, so if anyone is qualified to make this decision then it's me. Go home kids, nothing to see here.

The compass doesn't point to anything. It is there just so the weapon looks cool.

Whenever u spawn in on earth, its always pointing the opposite way that u spawn in.
