Ever since I hopped on that s***ty common sparrow after repairing the vehicle uplink, I've obsessed over the thought of sanctioned racing matches. What state-of-the-art free roam RPG (one packed with materialized bad-assery) wouldn't benefit from online racing matches? In this dedicated players opinion, none. Whether it be point-to-point rally matches, or something completely Bungified, pushing past an opposing player who thought they knew how to operate their sparrow couldn't be less satisfying than earning a first place kill in Crucible. Maybe I'm the only one who has the desire to make real players eat my subatomic dust, but I highly doubt it!

Your not the only one, sparrow races would be great. Gambling on who would win sparrow races would be FANTASTIC!

Good god yes! Do it now! ... lets do it on venus and mars to start with on our own. Well all line up and wait for the signal ...public event?.... then race off around the planet. First one to make it back gets a free engram from xur! Ive got naughty pictures of him and ill put in a good word for you. .... Lets do this!!!
-
Sadly, that should have been in the game on day one. How the hell could they not do this?

Except loading prompts in between two public zones would ruin momentum and leave players raging if they had a chance to win. But on a side note, if you want racing it should be pike racing because boost runs out on them and instead of arc shots doing damage to your vehicle they should take boost away from your pike. More strategic, equal, and make for an extremely competitive event.

If it was done with the pike, maybe weapon enabling pick-up's could be done?

There's Vanguard and Crucible, why not Sparrow Racing? Race Marks let you buy kinky upgrades for your sparrow, or just buy a goddamn sparrow

So I'm not the only one here!? Yes!!!!

Far from alone, friend. Clanmates and i have already designated starting points and finish lines and had a go. Racing through enemies shooting at you, over/around massive rock collections, getting big air.. just ads to the excitement when the checkered flag is waved.

Heck yeah!!! I've thought that too!!!
