Monthly Subscription start date
When will this be happening. I think it's in the best interests of everyone that purchased the game that we should pay £8/12$ a month for the next 10 years so Bungie can build Destiny into the world they/we envision
I believe we would all enjoy the game much more if only they would add even more content. I am willing to give them my money for more of a game.
-I see many people are keen with the idea of paying monthly. Think of all that extra content Bungie will give us. Glad to see people agree
-it's good to see so many comments with people split down the middle on the sub....subject. What I can propose is that there are a subbed and unsubbed versions of Destiny
The Subbed version players would get all the treats and goodness that comes from a subscription like extra areas, weapons armour and new adventures around every corner and even an in game economy
-if you comment it means you agree that a sub should happen
The unsubbed version would be the poor mans version of Destiny. Where content unlocks are slower and opened up later down the line. These people get to do the same continuous Strikes and Raids month after month while they look on at the more superior guardians having a real adventure
There would be be an in game economy for the unsubbed, but the items available would be outdated and weak
I think it would also be cool to buy weapons and armour that we want. Like the Vex Mythoclast for £10 or 20$
I'd also pay for some new decal on my Sparrow. Because I'm a cool guy, my ride needs to be cool

I'd delete this game off my harddrive instantly. I have no issues paying a sub game and honestly think bungie could have pulled it off if they released a far more polished and content filled game. But this game does not have enough to pay subs for.

I'll trade in destiny if it to monthly subscription. So far bungie hasn't shown they deserve more money based on what they put out on release. If anyone thinks that bungie needs the money to produce better content, lol lol lol lol.

Dead against the idea myself. Tbh I don't have a great paying job so with life commitments I don't have loads of cash to chuck around but I love my job and myself and my wife get by ok. Now at £40-£60 a game I don't buy many games unless I know it's good or i really really want it :-) why should I suffer and not have a chance a good or better gear/weapons because I don't have enough spare cash or because I'm an adult and can't cry to mummy and daddy anymore. I play the game and play it a lot but I'd suffer as I don't have the means to keep chucking money at it unless I sacrifice buying any new games.

I can't believe he honestly could be so misinformed about his own industry. What I took from this was that they were not trying to make Destiny the game I thought they were. I'd happily pay a monthly subscription for the game I thought Destiny would be however; in its current state I can't say that cost would be justifiable. As long as it did not become a pay to win game. There are plenty of FTP options that allow in game transactions such as Guild Wars 2 or Path of Exile, if they were to use that revenue to fund additional content rather than a subscription I think that would also be acceptable.

2 RepliesIs this post serious? I own a PS4 and I wouldn't pay a monthly subscription for Destiny. Not in its current form anyways there would have to be significant additions to the game. The most obvious, a decent story with new and challenging missions.

Well i like destiny and bought the both dlcs, but im dissapointet from the actually content and the low stuff we get from dark below. I dont think dat i would pay monthly for a Demo game. More Story/Balance, more social features, Crafting/gathering would change my mind.

While not a terrible idea, I don't do monthly subscription games. Not ones where you pay for the month and not allowed time. I just don't have that much free time for that. There are sub based games I'd love to play though. In the end, it might benefit destiny, but be a loss for me. But after 200 hours played, I'm already extremely satisfied with Destiny, and would love to see it thrive, even without me.

I would pay for it for one reason only, I enjoy Destiny, and if I were to stick to F2P then I would be missing out on a lot of content, and I would feel forced in to a corner to pay for a subscription that I didn't want to pay for in the first place. The good thing with DLC packs is that you get what you pay for, but say you pay for a years subscription then you decide that halfway through the year you don't want to play anymore, at that point you wasted cash on time on a game that you're not using, it's why I dislike subscriptions for games, I much prefer to just buy the game and then decide if I want the DLC thereafter.

Sounds like a good idea, just let people buy things in expansion packs with release dates and those that sub get to play it early and such.

I mean willing to pay for content that should have been on the game to start. We are already having to buy "extra" content. I say "extra" cause the little bit we are getting $20 is absurd. No way will I pay a sub for a game I already bought.

2 RepliesIf this game was designed to have the content of an actual MMO (Here come all the haters saying "this isn't an MMO!" Well, you're leveling up a character online with others, yeah it's an FPS MMO hybrid) and built around the concept of a monthly subscription I think it would be beastly. $8-10 a month from all the users would give them the budget to work wonders with it. The only F2P MMO I've seen work well was Guild Wars, everything else was monthly and good.

At the start of each month, subscribers may, or may not, receive the subbed version. For the sake of fairness, non-subscribers may also receive the subbed version so as to get a taste of what they're missing, it will be totally be determined at the discretion of Destiny's wonderful loot system. So that subscribers feel they are getting they're moneys worth, they will be given the option to pay an additional £16/$24 to increase their chances by 10% for the following month. I feel this will add a sense of excitement to subscribing and be far more fitting with the spirit of the game.
