link up top some stuff on the first war
When a game is made it fits into certain genres. Not the shooter or racing game or beat'm up
I'm talking about sci fy (Halo), Fantasy (Elderscrolls), realism (Battlefield or CoD) or satire (GTA 5) to name a few.
Now Destiny is somewhere between Science Fiction and Fantasy in my opinion and it confuses the crap out of me.
Science and magic will be at odds since one has an a answer that makes sense ["Doctor who"(tv) on a good day or Mass Effect], and the other is acceptance of things that have no clear cut answer ["Lost"(tv) or "Elder scrolls").
The Destiny universe seems to be both which is somewhat off putting.
Warlocks, Wizards and throwing magical balls of fire or lighting (let's face facts people, those aren't grenades) don't usually go with spaceships, A.I.s and Robots.
In the end it doesn't really matter gameplay wise but at some point, one has to give story wise.
for example You can't Have a Gigantic sphere raising the dead without explaining how. And once it is explained, it ain't magic anymore and becomes science.
i really think the writer (yes, just one dude....) wrote the game into a corner where things will never make perfect sense.
Anyways, in your opinions which type of story are we playing?

Magic is the science we can't understand. Everything has an explanation we just label it as magic when we don't understand how it works.
