Personal Service Announcement for Control, the Crucible game type similar to Slayer but with a hint of CTF.
Okay, so what most of you know is when you play Control, you want to capture the zones, right?
All three of them is your goal?
Well that's stupid.
I'm here to explain why that's stupid.
The Problem
In Control you and your team start out at either A or C, you capture the one in front
of you and run to B.
Usually the better idea is to split up into two teams of three, one to B and the other to home plate.
Okay now you've captured Home and B, so what do you naturally do?
You run to their Home zone.
This is where you've made a mistake.
Let's assume you and two others capture their Home.
Oh but wait, what's that? They're capturing your Home and B?
How did this happen?
It happen because you captured their Home, they were homeless, they needed a place to spawn when you kicked them out, so they spawn at your home base!
The Solution
Now that you've lost the match because of your silly mistake, you'll want to revise your plan.
The problem was capturing all three zones, the fix is only capturing two of the zones.
A Situation
So you start another match of Control, this time you're thrown into Shores of Time.
Your team has C and B, they have successfully captured two of the zones.
Noticeably, these two zones are pretty close and easy to maintain, unlike A, which has 3 entrances and is a small enclosed room. This is what you want to achieve!
Your team is on brink of winning the match and you're shooting to the top of the score board.
Noteworthy observation: Enemy Team is only spawning at A and is likely giving C a hard time, however, this varies to players.
Which Zones Should I Cap?
Twilight Gap~ B&A
Rusted Lands~ B&C or B&A
(Either works due to how close the zones are, however B&A is recommended)
Exodus Blue~ B&C or B&A
(Either works due to how close the zones are, however B&A is recommended)
First Light~ B&C
Anomaly~ B&C
Firebase Delphi~ B&A
Blind Watch~ B&C
Shores of Time~ B&C
Conclusion
Hopefully that cleared up how to play Control effectively.
Too many times do I notice a team mate capture enemy home base and then suddenly our enemies are all over the place!
And more often than not, we lose those matches.
If this thread does well, I'll make another on how to destroy my strategy on each map.
e.g. How to force the enemy team away from B&C on Shores of Time.

The team synergy here was just so awesome. Nobody pushed for A 😀, the titans were generous with the orbs, and I got a Reign of Terror to finish the match! Enjoy. Shoutout to all the Titan Bros out there holding down those Bs and Cs.

Bump. People need to know this.

Luvvin it

Love it. Nice post. Hate when spawn flips.

Did anyone else immediately know the OP was full of crap when he referred to Control as a "mix of Slayer & CTF"?
No. Just no.
-
Bump. This is extremely helpful. I get pretty upset when dumb people go to the other point that doesn't need to be capped.
-
Come on guys, check this thread out and spread it around, it'll save you.

In a competitive match this is sound advice. But in the unorganized crux you can cap all three when playing a bunch of nose donkeys. And hold them long enough to get a good chunk of a head start to win.

Great thread. Too many retard randoms that flip spawns. More applause for you for pointing out the best flags per map. Very important. Also another mention. Group on for heavy don't be that douchebag lone wolf hogging heaven by yourself. My rule is 3+ on heavy.

Bump. I'm not sure if I can play with one of my friends anymore, he's a fan of C on rusted lands and I'm die hard A.
-
Can you make a writeup on blind watch please?

IB is up, Bump.

Almost agree. Instead of holding half the team back to cap the home point, 1 or 2 can do the work. 4 can go to the neutral point and overwhelm the enemy when they get there with their superior numbers. Meanwhile, home point is capped and the two remaining team members have had enough time to get themselves in a position to defend.

Bump. If people care to read this post, the Control will be less frustrating. For Twilight Gap, hold B&C could be better. It is easier to get heavy ammo at C and C is easier to defend. There is also a sweet spot near C you can use Armor Piercing Rounds to kill enemies who is trying to take B.

Public Service Announcement Otherwise good tips
