Question: Most of the time, was your Raid party made with real friends or randoms? Definitions: -friend: someone youve met online or real life who you play with frequently -random: someone youve met online from a forum or a website for the first time Situation: Bungie wanted us to complete the raid with only our close friends for a number of reasons. However, how many of you actually completed the raid with 5 other friends versus randoms? This poll will hopefully support the fact that most players do NOT have friends always available to play and instead spend a great deal of time making/joining a raid party. Background: Like most MMOs, a party can start a raid group when interacting with an NPC or entering a dungeon. (On pc) Party's can be assembled using world chat system or the game can have its own party setup built within the game for a particular activity. Most of the time, players wanting to raid will assemble around the raid npc spamming their lfg/lfp messages. It varies, but most work. Assessment: The problem is that Destiny in-game does not have a world chat to reach every player, but has an app instead. Destiny's forum posting/player messaging is not as efficient as an actual chat room; it lags and takes players forever (if ever) to respond. Furthermore, only a limited amount of players can be at the tower, unlike a real mmo where 100s of players can be together in the same area. Also, theres no way to efficiently communicate to players in the tower unless you invite them through a painstakingly slow process. Creating a party is so so so tedious! Entering names of random people and sending them an invite is very inefficient. Recommendation: There are a number of ways destiny could provide a solution. In my opinion, the most effective and efficient way is to provide an NPC at the tower that will provide matchmaking options with various customizable filters. You can search for available partys, set up a party with level requirements, etc etc. You guys can brainstorm some great ideas. Many MMOs already have something similar. I really hope Bungie will address this issue and that this poll and request will be of benefit for the game and the community. Regards, Jmon
