Got Destiny a week ago...so what do you Titans think which class is better in pvp?
-
Striker is more aggressive. Defender can be useful in control/salvage when holding or taking a point.
-
Depends on your style. Defenders have the only one hit grenade for titan's and it's magnetic (pretty epic) but then you miss out on the shoulder charge, fists of havoc, and storm fist with Strikers. Personally, I can't play crucible without shoulder charge, it has become part of me as an individual
-
Had a warlock main. Then made a titan and leveled up defender completley and love this class so much. Probably use it more than my main.. (def use it more). I love when people use my bubble it makes me feel so useful lol

Edited by Swiftlock: 11/17/2014 5:15:00 AMStriker for PvP, ideally. Fist of Havoc is pretty much an "I Win!" button. See a stupid Bladedancer spamming his Arc Blade towards you? Fist of Havoc. Voidwalker getting ready to launch his Nova Bomb? Fist of Havoc. Sunbro just revived himself after you killed him once? Fist of Havoc. Defender dancing around inside his bubble? Run in there and Fist of Havoc. Some jackass with a shotgun or fusion rifle turning a corner and trying to blitz you? Fist of Havoc. The lightning grenade also does a crapton of damage if you can use it properly, that is, sticking it to walls and hitting enemies around corners or behind cover with it. A well-placed lightning grenade can wipe out entire groups and then some. Defender also has his uses as well. The bubble can be used to ward off attackers, and the Armor of Light can render you nearly indestructible to all but the most powerful attacks when you're inside it, (this includes Arc Blade, sadly), and the sticky Magnetic Grenade is easily one of the best grenades in the game, but personally, Striker seems to be the more potent option, imo.

I can't get more than 1-2 kills with Fists of Havok in Clash unless I wait for the perfect time, which wastes Super energy. Thus, it is hard to get more than ~4 kills a match with it. Especially in Rumble where you might get 2-3 kills with it in an average match. Ward of Dawn, however, has allowed me to go whole matches with 150% health and a nice big safe zone that flashbangs everyone that enters it. Last 6 Rumbles: 22 to 2 23 to 0 22 to 2 23 to 1 24 to 2 23 to 1 Imo, in the average lobby, Defender has much higher potential. The only way they're killing you is if they Super you and you don't counter correctly or you get swarmed.

Both classes are great fun. I would start with Striker first, it'll help you get acquianted to how things work. Defender is,the ultimate team player class though. in the end it's your pref. I use Striker ONLY for pvp. Defender for everything else.
-
Try to get a base amount of unlocks in both You never know what exotic armor you may get They are usually geared towards one or the other I run both. Usually striker. But i run defender in the VOG For pvp if you get the helm of inmost light you can run striker with all three perks

Edited by iMoonchildi: 11/17/2014 6:32:03 AMboth it's better to be versatile for every class, striker first though
-
I go striker. My teammates are often terrible and not worth using buffs on.
-
You can honestly use striker 90% of the time. I use it in vog cause the flash bangs and foh but you may wanna stay defender till you are comfortable what your doing. They both have pros and cons
-
Striker for sure in PvP. Defender is amazing in PvE but it's up to you/your friends really, so I would train up both of them so you can have that option. But yeah if you're looking for PvP Striker is definitely the way to go.
-
Rule of thumb for me... Pvp - striker Pve - defender Rarely deviate from this, sometimes go defender in control
-
while the striker has its moments, defender is where its at. unless you're looking to mass PvP kills - quite easy as a striker.

Edited by Xaiyu: 11/17/2014 6:00:49 AMGot destiny about a week agooooooo Edit: striker
-
I play striker myself, but there is no doubt at all defender is a huge help to any team. If you want to get the kills, go with striker. If you want to play the objectives and go for helping your teammates, go with defender.
-
Defender. Strikers are pretty bad in pve and pvp they're for beginners
-
Both! I have striker maxed and I'm only a few levels from maxing out the defender and they are both amazing classes
-
Striker so in pvp when I meet a defender feels safe in his scrub bubble he can meet my fist ;)
-
it's so annoying when they bubble over a control point. .
-
Got Destiny a week ago...so what do you Titans think which class is better in pvp?
Hard to choose really, but for pve like high level stuff then defender, but pvp can use both, just depends on the mood your in.
-
Both???
-
I use defender personally. At the very least their sticky grenades are beastly.
