Why does it matter if you EARN it or BUY it?

So how do you feel about buying or earning? And any cool stories on how you got something? Please share, I'd like to read them while I'm bored at work.. lol (My opinion down below) I mean there's countless examples for each side why the other is crap. Here are few examples from my perspective. Crucible: I'm good at crucible when I try to give a damn, (which is rare since other than one extra mark for gear that I don't even need, or weapons that I don't want, there is no motive to try) but when I get 20-30+ kills and I'm lucky to get a rare engram if anything. (To this date I haven't gotten one legendary anything from a crucible match) But the people that do at RANDOM, whether they were good or bad or shit, because RNG is what RNG is. They are now earners? Uhm, sure buddy, you really earned that one.. that being said, I can't complain, that is what this game is about, I hate the crucible because of this, which is sad since I bought the game mainly for PVP but have since practically stopped playing entirely. But that's the what Bungie wants their "competitive multiplayer" to be, ha. "competitive". So, just because I had to buy the item you earned at random, I am now not as good as you? Sure. GRINDERS: Now, to the " I have grinded my life away, doing countless (plug in whatever you want)!, nobody else deserves this gun without going through the torment I went through" I say Uhm, why? Let's be serious, you had bad luck, you could have gotten the item you gotten in your first run just the same, RNG is an evil mistress, and you didn't you had to continue, and continue, and continue. So what if you had to do so and so, and some more so to get it. That's a personal problem, not mine or anyone else's. Sure some people can feel your pain as they have gone through the same, but still there is no point to cry about it. I have pretty good luck, so I think, doing this. But I don't take it to the extreme like some people and don't think any less of people who have to buy to get certain items I received at random. I mean I got TLW last week. But not a single tear was shed from me, I literally chuckled that Xur sold it just because it was perfect timing. So why discriminate? NIGHTFALL/RAID: Now I've had my fair share on all of these and seem to have decent luck, I mean 5-6 runs with warlock, no raid armor. But 1 run with my other classes and have one for each.. I mean, I guess. But still not mad. I have gotten a couple exotics from nightfall. Yes, I was pumped up, and no I didn't want to strangle Xur when he ended up selling them, I felt bad for the people who didn't get an exotic in the nightfall. I'm always bummed when I don't so I assume others feel the same. So what I get to rejoice when Xur comes and possibly buy an exotic from him? Doesn't mean I didn't earn it. I just got it a different way then you. Oh well. My answer: No matter what way you look at it, buying things from Xur REQUIRES you to do something if anything. I can't just sit in orbit and catch strange coins that fly past me in space. But to the "EARNERS", I've seen more than my fair share of people AFKING strikes and crucible. Just to get the same chance at something good as I had even though, they did LITERALLY NOTHING. Not that every "EARNER" does it, but still point is there's more ways to get things by doing nothing than there is if you had to buy it. I personally do both, I mean why the hell not. The thing is both are ways of getting the same things, so I don't care where you got it, I just care about your story on how. Even though most stories will be the same boring story, there are some gems out there. So how do you feel about buying or earning? And any cool stories on how you got something? Please share, I'd like to read them while I'm bored at work.. lol
