Game data is locked up and no response from bungie

I had been getting an unrecognised disc error intermittently for a couple weeks then it became permanent while doing a strike a yesterday. I just had to restart the game and it would go away but not any more.I have gotten a new game disc and reinstalled the software, but this has not solved the issue. Microsoft customer support had me try a number of things with three different techs after giving me a case number and telling me to contact the developer. It there a way to solve this problem with loosing my game saves? This is on an Xbox 360 system. I have posted this a few times and no response from bungie. It appears the only way to fix the problem is to wipe all of the game data including my saves. Which will put me in a shit out of luck position since Bungie states they will not restore deleted characters. Microsoft took the time to work through this problem and all Bungie will do is let me post on there forums? Can someone from bungie at least tell me they won't help me before I delete all my game data and start over?!

  • From what I understand is character data is on the server since you can access the same character when you switch from different consoles in the same family (for example, 360 to One). So your character data should be safe. But I am not 100% sure. Also, to help people to find your post, I would suggest adding other tags like "unrecognized disk" and "Xbox 360".
