Idea: Legendary Treasure Chests
I think one of the things Destiny could really benefit from is more reasons to explore the world. Golden chests are great when you are playing through the story for the first time but they are fairly useless late game.
I think it would be great to have chests that only spawn throughout the world once you reach level 20. They could even spawn randomly each week along with the reset and maybe be protected by high level enemies! This would give players a reason to explore beyond simply farming materials and would add much more incentive to play patrol!

1 ReplyAgreed. I love to explore and as you mentioned the golden chests are fairly useless late-game. I don't remember receiving anything worthwhile from them to be honest, other than glimmer, which doesn't buy anything useful. More chests with better rewards please Bungie.

I'm pretty sure they exist but not in the same regard. Chests have a chance to be special and give around 10-15 materials, glimmer, ammo synthesis and rare or legendary engrams.

Maybe if they were just like the cryptarch messages we are guaranteed 1 to 3 decoherents or the possibility of at least one legendary.

They were useless the first time through.... Every gold chest I got was 10 lvls lower than me and 5 levels lower than the mission/planet I was on.
