Idea for Future Strikes: Bronze, Silver, Gold Tier Achievements

TL;DR - I think if Strikes had tiered achievement levels (e.g. Bronze, Silver, Gold) with corresponding increases in challenge (and of course rewards), it would build further enjoyment upon the existing formulas, and add longevity without requiring completely new content. Now the "Too Long, But I Read Anyway" explanation: First and foremost, I am pulling this idea from Star Wars: Rogue Squadron for the N64. Man, that game was awesome. I know WoW has something similar with Challenge Modes, and I think the success there attests to something as well. I also wouldn't be the least surprised if something like this has been suggested before. It just seems like a natural fit in many ways. I think the absolute strongest asset Destiny has is Clans, or more fundamentally, group play. I did the HM raid twice this week, once for no personal gains, just because the experience of helping clanmates gear up is just about as awesome as getting gear yourself. Recent forum threads about shy gamers having really positive experiences with patient fellow players helping them through the raid really boosts my excitement for fostering more of these kinds of things. To that end, I think applying the Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiered ratings of success we see in Public Events to Strikes is a potential opportunity to further build on what Destiny is already driving us to do: work in teams in order to progress. What could define the tiers is up for debate. It could be faster times, more kills, more precision kills, etc (or combinations of all of the above and more). In the spirit of Rogue Squadron, maybe a future Strike could have phases where you have to defend structures of some sort, and saving more of them means qualifying for a higher ranking. Things of that nature. I'm sure a zillion good ideas could come up here. We are already doing Strikes over and over. Having achievements/rewards for doing them "better", not necessarily just faster or safer, presents opportunities for diversifying how the same content is experienced, training teams in mechanics in preparation for end game content, and gives Clans who are already regularly running everything they can together (Dailies, Weeklies, Raid) something else to help build their team dynamics. Just thought I would share. Thanks for your time. - L.
