After doing the nightfall today, I decrypted an engram and received the Red Death (I don't know if my issue is a glitch from receiving an exotic weapon) and I check my inventory showing: 13 Strange Coins, 50 Spin Metal, 26 Ascendant Energy, 4 Relic Iron, 3 Spirit Bloom, 29 Motes of light, about 409 sapphire wire, and 190 weapon parts. ( I recently upgraded some armor and that is why I have few materials and no shards). About 5 minutes later, during a mission, I check my inventory again to use a syn pack and notice that all I have in my materials section (top left) is: 13 Strange Coins, 41 Helium Filaments, and 29 Motes of Light. If anyone has had this happen to them before or knows how to solve it, please let me know.
