I like the idea of siding with a faction but feel restricted by the gear I'm allowed to purchase. I don't mind grinding rep points but thanks to RNG, ranking up means very little since most times I only get materials.
How about expanding vendor inventory after unlocking higher levels? Or rotating inventory weekly? I'll even settle for increased rep gain for equipping faction class items and emblems similar to Iron Banner.
Also, how about faction specific missions or crucible matches? Give us more insight in-game as to who these factions are and what their goals are. I want to feel like siding with a faction means more than a fancy new gun.

I like this idea. Faction specific quest lines would flesh out the story and make everyone's experience a little different.

Factions are worthless. You can find all the faction gear without joining them. I have been rewarded with dead orbit and FWC weapons/armor and I'm not in either of those factions.

Okay, I'm new and have a question about the factions. Can you choose only one faction? or can you join all of them? I haven't chosen a faction, except for the default Vanguard, because I'm afraid of being stuck with just one. Also, some were saying that if you join a faction, you might get more legendary drops of that faction, or are the legendary drops so random that the faction matters not? Thanks for helping a rookie out. FS

bump this would be a very easy bone to throw people whining about content (not saying you are) I'd be sweet to see faction choice be more relevant in the game too (faction v faction pvp, specific faction pve content after a certain rank etc)

Cool idea man

Shameless bump.

Bump. I know I'm not the only one who thinks factions should expand its wares.
