I rarely post on these forums but I do enjoy reading other peoples posts! First off let me say I love this game and will be playing it for the long haul! I have a few suggestions that I believe would really improve the pvp experience. Please consider these suggestions Bungie!
1. Match teams against other teams. I cant tell you how many times I go into pvp with a team and destroy the other poor souls that happen to get matched up against us! I mean I like to play with my friends, it happens to be that most of my friends are very good at Destiny.
2.Please put a penalty in the game for people that quit! I cant tell you how many times I've had to stay in a game and chase one guy around for 10 mins cause his random teammates quit on him at the beginning of the game. Cause they actually ran into people that can aim their guns.
3. Please match skilled players against other skilled players. I'm sure the casual gamer doesnt appreciate going into pvp against skilled fps players, I know I dont enjoy playing against people that have no idea what they are doing.
Now I know that would probably be a very big update and may even be very hard to apply to Destiny. But I swear people would enjoy pvp so much more if you would put any or all of these suggestions into Destiny. I wont even comment about custom games. I'm sure people are tired of hearing about it! It would be awesome though! Thank You

Almost 2k games and a 4.0 k/d, you're my hero. Makes me want to watch your stream, maybe I'll pick up a few tricks, constantly trying to improve my game.
-
Those are some great stats you have there. Good job never seen people with that high of stats that actually play the game a lot
-
Jesus. Those stats... Mmm
-
Impressive stats bro, although I got you on single game kills , 52 brah 😄 lol
-
what system are you on? i need a pvp group for xb1 :((
-
Respect. True boss. Sir, we salute you. Would gladly go toe to toe with you
-
need people for PvP who have MIC's (PS3).I play mostly PvP and just the hard pve modes so I'm playing PvP 75% of the time but the problem is I'm in a clan and allied with a couple other clans but no one plays PvP regularly like I do so I end up playing by myself constantly. My proposition is if you play mostly PvP and have a MIC add me and we will run in a group. PSN: jscrazzy Comment so I know your sending a request Lvl30 hunter 27 warlock

Wow! I now have a massive inferiority complex after looking at your stats lol! I just don't think I am quick enough in the head for PvP.

Will be done in Destiny 2: The Apology

Edited by An Actual Noob: 11/5/2014 12:32:43 PMi face these exact same problems with my team, maybe once every 50 games in skirmish we match a team of 3 that are bound to give us a challenge when they end up losing regardless, even if we play pisspoor with no coordination and a lot of unneccasary deaths we still win, with double the score, ive seen you all the way up there on DTR, i dont know if its because of the console we play on or if we are just that good, the point is that skill has absolutely no role in this game, its useful to have but doesnt increase chances of being rewarded or being matched with other good players, because this game just doesnt keep track of stats, we have to go to a 3rd party website outside of the game to see if we're any good, and im pretty sure the only way we will match other teams is iron banner, but its a shame that iron banner is just control. id love iron banner skirmish tho, cuz then people would actually care to get a team together to compete. but if skill mattered with a ranking system thats something like DTR people would delete chars just to play against noobs, thats what basically every semi decent player did on halo 3 even tho i dont see how that would be enjoyable when theres no penalty for quiting out so thats what kids that get rekt do, they quit out after 1 minute and you can chase 1 guy for 10 minutes

Lets be honest here, if you truly believe Destiny is competitive then you're not really skilled at all. Before you start saying " my e-dik is bigger than yours," I rarely even try in Crucible. Why? Because this shit is so easy that its painfully boring. Also, before you start firing off "my W/L is better than yours," me and my team have a 100% win ratio to loses. Why doesnt my record reflect that? Because my teammates don't get on often enough so I randomly go in Crucible and try for trick shots. I would go to another game or play PvE, but I don't have another game and I don't like doing PvE. I will be on Halo next week at 12:01 EST. Just in case you start bashing my post, I'd just like to point out that I'm not trying to hate on you. It's just that any skilled player (Halo player at least) knows this game is, and probably never was, not meant to be competitive. And just in case you start saying I'm crap and can't back my stuff up. My GT: is ichigo85. Add me if you really wanna play me when Halo is out.

Destiny PvP is only meant to be a "vacation" for Guardians. Its a FUN way to break from grinding and raiding. Destiny PvP is the most casual PvP ever. I have played ALOT of PvP as well. The Crucible is not a very competitive game. Bungie servers cannot handle highly competitive games right now. Anyone who's puts 6 shots into another player only to have them die after they one hit melee you knows what I'm talking about. The guys who walks on forever. The Titan that never dies or takes damage. Players jump around like slide shows then shotgun you and your like wtf. Balance is not based on weapon base stats or damage output or anything that can be mathematically calculated. If everyone's doing the same thing the games not balanced(Bungie quote). Pretty much whatever's the most popular loadout\weapon will get nerfed. Anything that is "too close to call" is counted as a kill. I have a blast in PvP, top 1% on PS in numerous categories like Orbs dropped, precision kills, defense kills....I'm in the top 100 hunters in the world for orbs dropped in PvP.

Edited by JamesButlin: 11/5/2014 11:09:48 AMYour third point reminds me of a kill I got the other night, a guy picked up his heavy ammo and turned around to see me running towards him. He started shooting his HMG and not a single bullet hit me, I actually saw bullets come to my left, then over my head, then to my right... Just before I stuck him in the face with a fusion grenade, gave him a cheeky slap and ran away to let him explode :D I did feel a bit bad for him

All these things

Also how bout game chat. Premade teams will always have advantage but first game i ever played where randoms are not permitted to communicate. Its just crazy
-
1. Imagining the terrible matchmaking system trying to find 2 evenly matched groups is horrifying. Not to mention the fact that solo players would far outnumber groups and queue time would be terrible. Solo queue can take ages as it is. 2. Agree, won't happen though :( 3. Don't see how this could work. As it is now Bungie seems to use combat ratings to "try" create even teams, probably to some cap. With my combat rating, I frequently get matched with people all sub 50 rating. Makes for a very un-fun game as I almost always play solo and the majority of my teammates would be better suited to playing tetris. Matching 12 high rating players would again just create looong queues for those people and increased queues for everyone as the player pool gets smaller for each skill level. I don't see Bungie implementing large changes like this for the minority (high ranked/stats players). The game just doesn't feel like it is aimed at the ultra competitive PvP wise. Maybe way down the track. I believe custom games, clan battles maybe, would be the only quick solution to your problems. Good luck with that ;)
-
im cool too
-
I'm looking for good folks with communication skills to crucible with. Former halo 2 pro player (mediocre stats because I get stoned and play with headphones on when I'm solo because it's intense as hell.) hmu
-
A comment on number three: That honestly would only be applicable if they added a season ranking system like CoD has. But I would put my entire account on it that it will never happen.
-
with randoms....

Edited by slingerw: 11/4/2014 10:56:00 AMAgreed and nice stats. Also playing against players of your own level improves your own skill until your ready to advance, drops should also be reflected in the player standard and score.
-
basically Destiny needs real Matchmaking. A premade team of 6 vs randoms is pretty unfair. Mostly because all 6 will be good while 6 randoms has a low chance of all being good, which leads to super inflated k/d ratios.
-
Aside from the all round stupidity in this post the part that i find extremely stupid is the idea that matchmaking should be based on "skill" first of all it is already based on level slightly if you take a 15 chances are you'll end up in a lobby of 20-22s as opposed to 27-29. You want it to distinguish between a "hardcore" player and a casual. How so? Win loss Ratio? Quick tip that's called a tournament not matchmaking.
-
maybe placing a pvp ranking system would help better match people, that could solve all those issues in one not huge code changing blow. Similar to grouping in pve strikelist with light level
-
They have the DTR score. Use that to match players. I can't compete against seasoned players because I have very little experience in PvP. It would be much easier to learn with people of a similar skill and as you get better you end up being challenged more.
