The Knight for the Two Cities.

Some time ago, there were two princesses. They both came from very wealthy families from large kingdoms next to each other who ruled their lands with iron fists. The princesses had much in common, yet they seldom agreed on anything no matter what the subject, and in fact often competed against each other for sport. When they weren't fighting with each other, they'd simply just fight with other people from their respective kingdoms. There were people of all kinds in these kingdoms, young and old, the poor and the rich, a melting pot of cultures and wealth and backgrounds. Now and then something came along that peaked their interests and brought them temporary joy, but other than that, day in and day out they were bored and looking for something more, something big. Nothing was good enough for them. One day, the kingdoms were told of a brave knight in shimmering white armor named Destiny who was coming to show them a vast expansive world of wonder and adventure that would change them forever. They ate up every glorious bit of gossip about this fabled knight, his staggering size, his beautiful and well defined visage, stories of the years that had been spent turning him into the perfect knight. They were told of his interests in trading and gambling, a merchant of the people with an ace up his sleeve. He truly seemed like he was exactly what they had been needing to enhance their bland lives. Time passed as the valiant knight rode toward them, and they heard word that the legendary and celebrated bard who had been a crucial part in the knight's upbringing had departed from the great journey, with many a soul having no idea why. Despite the mystery around the bard's departure, they kept up their hopes and eagerly awaited their dashing hero..... *some time later* The day had finally arrived, Destiny was here! The princesses made their way down to where the two kingdoms met, where they would meet the glorious knight at last.... They stopped in their tracks. "Ello! Lady Exboxa and Lady Playstella I take it? I'm Ser Destiny, I've traveled all the way here from the land of Buhngei to be of service to you!" He bowed to the young maidens, stumbling somewhat after tripping over his own foot. The princesses were sizing up the clumsy knight, confused. He wasn't as handsome as they had pictured...a little fuzzy around the edges, but still beautiful in his own way. He was shorter than they were led to believe as well...much shorter in fact, something about how short he was compared to what they were told was downright offensive in a way...but the princesses gave him the benefit of the doubt after tales they'd heard. When asked about his skills in trading and gambling, the knight looked at the girls as if he had absolutely no idea what they were talking about...but they were certain he was just in need of some time to recover from his journey and it'd all come back to him. The princesses asked the knight about the battles he'd won and adventures he'd gone on, but he just kept saying things like how he could tell them of the great battles....or he could tell them of the dangers he'd seen on his travels, and when the princesses asked him to tell the tales, he'd simply say he didn't have time to explain why he doesn't have time to explain.... Clearly the knight wasn't what they were expecting, not by a longshot, and when introduced to the kingdoms they were torn between loving him and hating him, some appreciated him for what he was, others threw tomatoes at him and mocked him for letting them down after the tales they had heard about him. The princesses let him stick around, and although he seemingly favored Playstella's kingdom more than Exboxa's, they both enjoyed his company and saw potential in him to be good for them both. Sure he may have been different than what they had been expecting and he lacked much of what was promised, and sure he may have been annoying the way he'd run into people's homes and throw them out on the street for a while claiming it was part of a safety drill for "baboons", or "bees", or "monkeys, but he had plenty to offer and room to grow with them and change. He had potential.
