Hey DeeJ, a SERIOUS idea for constant content: use community talent.

When Destiny was being advertised, I remembered hearing that it will constantly get new content. To say that finding out that this content was actually reskinned missions was a disappointment, would be an understatement. I was under the impression that actual story missions or strikes would be released for free on a regular schedule. What basis did I have for such an assumption? I don't know, you guys were kind of vague. Nevertheless, what I (and we) got did not live up to my expectations. However, I do have a pretty cool suggestion and I would love to hear you thoughts regarding it. I once stated it would be pretty cool to have a forge feature with Destiny, but what if we had an advanced mission creator? It would be sort of like a miniature development kit that you give to the community to create missions and challenges. The GUI would be intuitive and easy to use. Or you could provide a tutorial along with the miniature dev kit on how to use. it. There are millions of bungie fans, a lot of them probably have programming skills. You guys saw how creative people were with forge. Just imagine what they can do if they get their hands on a real level builder. Admit it, the possibilities are endless and your studio has a deficit of creativity right now, so it needs something like this. People would submit these missions for review at Bungie and the best ones would be released as bonus non-canon missions. I know this would require a huge amount of coding (in fact it would probably be released as a separate download), so maybe it's something you guys could work on later in the game's life or in Destiny 2. Give the power to the players.

  • Long Face, You just created a few long faces, with that suggestion. Like, how would like to be the guy in charge of "allocating community talent" and tapping that fountain, every week. Community users surfing you out everyday for not using their beloved, idea? Why did, Long Face, skip my idea? I thought is was better than so&so's. I simply think what you're recommending is great, in theory, but terrible in practical application. There are less-non-intrusive ways to get the pulse of the community that do not involve, dividing the community.
