Please read before you vote, and please vote. Edit 1: This isn't a short term fix idea. This is what will keep the game interesting for 10 yrs. I posted under the building bridges and had a lot of people ask me to post this idea in feed back. First Bungie you have to choose PVE or PVP as your focus. No ifs ands or buts. This game was marketed as the next evolution in RPG MMO gaming, and it has fallen quite short of your promises. And coming soon isn't going to keep our attention. You probably have one DLC to put out before everyone still willing to give you another chance is going to bail permanently. And honestly you shouldn't charge us for it. If you at least give us some of what you promised at launch, we may be willing to buy the next DLC. But until you decide your focus, all other fixes, ideas and complaints are meaningless. Once you decide we can all move forward. If you choose PVP, I for one am out, and all your hardcore PVPers will jump ship as soon as the next great hyped pvp thing is released. I hope you choose PVE. As do many who bought the game to start with, and I am not the only one with a good idea, Ive read a lot of them. I want to feel that my actions matter, I want to have some consequence in the game for my actions, even if they are subtle, but big consequences are great to, good and bad. Ideas to save PVE Add more maps to all the planets, but start with one first as a trial run. Earth for example. Leave Russia as the start zone, and an area for newcomers to learn to use their guardians. Add The USA, UK, China, Japan, Canada, Mexico, ect, as new maps that are as large as the existing maps. They can simply be terrain maps, with a few buildings for getting better sniper positions, hiding numbers ect. And have one guardian base per map, where we can buy ammo, man giant guns, get into tanks, access bank and bounties, whatever... Each week unleash ever flowing hordes of fallen, hive, vex or cabal on a single map. Every horde should have 1 or 2 commanders or whatever. They should be able to summon reinforcement spawns, be it instant spawns or ship drops when their numbers reach some low point. In order to stop the horde, ultimately we need to kill the commanders. There should also be multiple portals from which the commanders start from or spawn from, as soon as a horde and its commander(s) are killed of, another should instantly pop at the spawn point. This gate or spawn point should be guarded by 1 or multiple super world bosses that will take at least a 12 man team to take down, with the only adds being the hordes that spawn, so that other teams will have to help keep the adds away from the world boss team attempt to shut down the gate. The hordes ultimate goal is to take over the base ( this is a game based on losing all our planets to the darkness), once the base is lost the territory becomes that of the what ever horde took it, fallen, hive, vex, cabal. And we have to fight to get it back. If we lose all maps on a planet we lose the planet. Any area that is lost is unlockable, but it should be much harder to take it back after the horde gets a foothold, and easier to defend since we have tanks, huge mounted guns, ect. All of this should be open environment with anyone able to take part in any aspect including the world boss. Gear drops, rewards, rep should all be based on the participation of the individual and or team for all aspects. Some rewards such as rep and drops should be instant and should be awesome, while total weekly contribution to war should also be rewarded. The War should not be able to be ended on the first day either, the main gates should not be accessed easily. And as soon as one map is defended and gates shut down, another map should be activated at that exact moment. So if you get all you algorithms wrong and make it to easy for the mass of guardians that WILL participate because it would be Fing epic... the new gate formation instantly on another map will keep people motivated and attacking. With the help of the players idea and observations with this war it can be tweaked and made more interesting every patch. DLC can include new maps, new enemy densities ect. I couldn't care less that some player killed 8000 captians, but if he soloed 8000 horde commanders, that would be a legend headline. This is just a generalized idea, and Im pretty sure with the people just on this forum we can fine tune it and or other greater ideas to get the players feeling excited about this game again. I love the Idea of you game, but it is so lacking in meaning to me. Besides actually letting us fight a war with rewards against the forces of darkness, with the chance that we could lose a map and even a planet to modivate us, there is a real need to modify you story content. At least for me, the travelers shard mission on the moon should be a low level raid. You are freaking saving the damn Traveler from pain and allowing it to regain strength. How could you make this such a non exciting point in the game, not to mention even on heroic mode at a low lvl its way to easy for the benefit it is conveys to your cause as a guardian. 6 man raid lvl 10. The black garden, another point of WTF. It can be soloed on the first heroic lvl before you even hit 20. And its a pretty key turning point in the story, oh wait, ya you basically just said F&*ck it at that point. That should be the first lvl 22 or 24 raid. You are facing a God of Darkness. The exo on Venus... Talk about WTF, u might as well just used a damn ghost distress beacon or something. You can't introduce a character like that and give us no interaction with her people, squad, whoever she is working with. Hell, they probably have better bounties, or are maybe actually fighting in the war. Back to the moon... The tunnel system our ghost tells us is so massive we could never explore all of it... well I really want to, cause you said I can't. You could have a maze of tunnels ( that we can get lost in) that goes deeper and deeper and deeper, with check points, bosses and mobs. Hell make it so hard at the last check points takes a team of 30s to make it through the mobs, and make a world boss pop once anyone reaches the final check point. Something I can explore with my friends that takes more than 10 mins to complete. Hell the tunnels can change, I mean whose to say the hive doesn't shut down tunnels and open new ones daily, especially when guardians come snooping. Content, Content, Content. I don't want to read a damn card on my app to get the whole damn story. I play the game to experience it. If I want to read a bunch of cards I'd play Pokeman or Magic. In regards to the moon mission and black garden, those mission should not only be raids, but should have some affect on the game universe. Players should receive a blessing buff that last 24hrs of some sort from the traveler, something at the tower should become accessable, something should happen other than a cut scene, or permant light upgrades that transfer to all gear. The war scenario of defending planets, losing them, and taking them back can be used for the queen's wrath, tower bounties, its all able to be incorporated into the core game and enhance it. People will go bat shit crazy having fun beating back those mob hordes and fighting those world bosses to close the gates and protect those maps and planets. You also have an infinite amount of possibitites on bosses, strategies and gate shutdown requirements, so that its not the same thing everytime to get them shutdown. It would be a legendary co-op experience. And if we get good gear, not green and blues by participating, especially for high lvl toons.... it would be really nice of you. We want our actions to matter, we want to feel that we are part of the game, and want to experience every possible aspect we can in the game. Forums will read things or should read things like this with the war scenarios running.... "Holy shit, "EXOTiTan" lvl 30 just tried to solo the northern gate lord, but the match is at a stale mate,( tho with the new armor enhancements and buff for the titans and this players excellent game play) he cannot get the gate lord down past 25% and the gate lord can't kill the titan. The titans attempts keep throwing the gate lord into a frenzy unleashing double hordes that are attacking the base on the china map. DPS needs to get to the northern gate lord dammint, help that titan before we lose this map..., And every one else get your ass to the base and defend, they have all ready taken out the main guns. This is going to come down to bell!!!! Update 2.0.3.1 Mars has been overrun by the Devs with Cabal on everymap and in control of every guardian base... Because for the last two years no planet has ever been lost by the guardians, and only a very few maps have fell, the Devs have decided to challenge the guardians to take back Mars. Devs quoted as saying" No matter how hard we have made this war scenario, we can't seem to break the team work of the guardians on any platform. They figure out our sequences, algorithms, strategies, everything... So to keep it interesting and add a new challenges we have taken mars by force from the guardians. No Black Garden raid will be available until mars is taken back. The guardians have successfully defended all the planets for the last two years, but now they will have to fight to win back a planet. Lets see what legends rise to the occasion. posted 1 week later " Clan Bad Muthers is leading the charge on reclaiming mars, claiming 10 maps and 60 gate lords across 3 platform consoles in just one week, this clan is proving to be more than legend... they are EPIC." If you like the ideas let bungie know, if not, go back to repetition and pvp I guess.
