I'm sorry, but is Crota seriously just a giant knight model? Why is it every boss in the game (except Atheon) is the same model of a lower enemy but bigger?
This game has such a amazing art and detailed models, why do they completely drop the ball with bosses?
This guy should be 100% unique! He should be recognizable from miles away! I should walk into that chamber, see that beast and pee my pants! Instead, I just walk in and immediately think it's just another miniboss pushover knight.

**EDIT**
The comments below have prompted a flash back to better times. Maybe Bungie is just a little nostalgic.

Yeah im with you. They could have made him look awesome. But this way all they had to do was do a size and damage increase and boom theres your boss. Much quicker and easier.
-
I imagine crota will be a knight the same size as the boss in the "shrine of Oryx" mission
-
No, the boss is actually Scrota. He is the giant nutsack of a massive Ogre that drags along the cave floor and you have to escape Indiana Jones style using your sparrows.
-
Man... I remember the first Vault of Glass raid... it was way too exciting to discover, and I sincerely hope Crota will not disappoint.
-
Aethon is megatron
-
Say that when you get -blam!-ed up by his abilities
-
Atheon is just a bigger gatelord. I care more about the mechanics being well done more than what the boss looks like
-
Probably. But I'm more curious about Omnigul, the boss in the DLC strike. It says we'll draw her from her nest, which leads me to believe she is the spider that others speculated about.

Edited by Runningpath99: 11/12/2014 10:17:02 PMThere may have been details leaked about "Crotas end" and it sounds awesome, though they are not entirely reliable. The post said, that maybe players would have to hop onto their sparrows and flee from a giant ogre. Sounds great, right?
-
I bet he will be human. Maybe a guardian consumed by darkness.
-
Atheon is just a giant Minotaur reskined to look like glass.
-
i just hope he isn't a wizard, those are the most annoy things to deal with.
-
It's most likely a thrall.
-
Edited by veilsix: 11/10/2014 7:01:04 PMUnlikely. They haven't recycled a giant final boss yet in 2 events. Sardok is already a giant Knight. The Wizard model will be used in the strike from the sounds of it. So, unless they're going to give a sword to a giant Dreg or Acolyte, I would expect something different. :)
-
His sword is really his pubic hair
-
Atheon, actually, is basically a big, silver, spike-covered minotaur with a crown.
-
Well, pretty sure he'll have very different armor. And btw, you can't expect bosses to look completely different from infantry of the same race. Other than devil walkers and Sepiks Prime, that is.
-
Edited by LordZero: 11/3/2014 7:15:40 PMMaybe it's a Knight or maybe it's Maybelline
-
it makes sense. to quote someone else "would it make sense for a kangaroo too be th boss of a pack of wolves?"
-
Why is it every boss in the game (except Atheon) is the same model of a lower enemy but bigger?
Probably for the same reason that almost every bad guy in a standard action film is eight feet tall and packed with muscle. I've said it before - these are extraterrestrials. You don't see much variety in humans. Why would you see much variety in specific alien races?
-
He can't be that big.. his sword was so little.
-
None of the bosses are up-scaled models of weaker enemies. Look again.
-
We'll find out for sure in only 4 weeks time :D
-
Crota is modeled after Anna paquins dildo seat.
-
This has already been covered Every boss is a mutated version of a regular enemy
-
Because the minions had to be modeled after a commander
