To the Forum readers, please read and reply if you want Bungie to implement this
Bungie and Co.
I would like you Bungie, (if you aren't already) to really look into your own statement about this game and "looking unique"! Right now, this is not the case As others have said, you are forced to look a specific way based on GEAR and the STATS in the gear.
I would like to propose you come up with a semi-new system of how the stats of the gear is placed in the gear piece itself.
It would be VERY nice for the whole community and to also fit the desire you voiced to all of us (bout looking unique and customization)... to not have STATIC stats in a piece of gear forcing you to wear that gear based on the stats of it. This has EVERYONE looking exactly the same. That's horribly boring.
After playing the game, I think a very simple solution can be implemented. Gear should be composed of 2 things. The Look-of the item, or the "GEAR PIECE", and second... the STATS of the item. The STATS of the piece should be able to be removed and inserted for a price or an item of some kind, into another piece. Now, Don't make it separate stats... But as a WHOLE. So when you own say... A specific helmet that has a set of stats and perks, is the WHOLE set, they can not be individually moved.
So... if you like the looks or style of a specific Helmet, but want the Set of Stats of an exotic piece better, you can take out those stats and move it into the Helmet you like.
This then may pose a problem for having too many exotic type stats in rare pieces you may say. Not true. The Pieces themselves are not what should be considered EXOTIC. The STAT set is what should be considered EXOTIC. So once you transfer that STAT Set to another piece, then that piece is now EXOTIC and the current rules will still apply so you can only have one exotic gear piece equipped at a time.
Also.. you should only be able to move Helmet Stats, to another Helmet, Chest to another Chest. NOT helmet stats to a chest piece.
I think if you were to implement this, you would see a community that is MUCH more Happy, and Much COOLER and MUCH< MUCH more diverse.
Hope you look into this if you are not already.

Hows about they just implement the DC Universe style.... almost everyone is and can be different there but it has no effect on their stats If they equip a helmet with say 100 power and x look but like the look of a helmet they picked up but was 50 power, they could take the look of the 50 power helmet whilst retaining the full 100 power of the 'equiped' x helmet Sorry if my explanation was pants... I'm tired... it's late lol

Very interesting, also comparatively to just making other armor this would be easier for the game devs. I'm not sure how I feel about it but I will applaud the creativity, and anything that will help the actual needs a good Bump

The game Terraria has a feature where you have vanity slots adjacent to your armour.Simply put, you wear whatever you want for stats (def etc) in your armour slots but can also wear another set of gear, offering no stat benefits, in the vanity slots that denote how you actually look.Simples!

Make legendaries and exotics more prominent looking. Also more bonds, marks and cloaks. Plus holiday and exclusive bonds, marks and cloaks. Over a few months people will start looking different. Please no Transmog option.

I think you're trying to describe D3's transmog function

Nah. I'm definetly for more unique armor, but I don't like the stat switching idea.

That's still a flucking mess you're creating here. My idea of the custom weapon and armor shop in the tower is a fluck load more awesome.
