I've been looking back at the previous years leading up to Destiny, and if you look: it's shocking how mislead we (the community) were on just what the game was.
I'll be referencing this ViDoc from Aug 22, 2013 (One single year before release):

First off, the developers immediately say, "our #1 priority is to make a world that people want to be in." *sarcasm* That sounds like Destiny already!! They talk of variety and exploration (neither are present in the final product), along with SATURN (not in game at all). Joe Staten states that what people will really like is the social aspect of the game (you mean the Random Danceing and other mute gestures?) and the big world (that's actually pathetically small by comparison to any game, linear or open world!). Honestly, Halo 1 took me to larger, more varied, far more interesting locals, and that mostly took place on a single bloody Halo ring!! Character race is mentioned to have an impact on how you play.
It doesn't
At around 2:44 into the video, we see a Guardians ship do a fly-by drop off (never seen in-game). Activities for every mood??? When is anyone in the mood to grind themselves to madness while praying to the RNGods for decent loot? All sweet loot drop effects, Bosses actually dropping loot, chests bursting with loot: WHERE IS THIS? Picking your own path? Customization? Where did these go? Only RNGJesus does (and that notorious bastard DeeJ *cringe*).
This is a sample of evidence for fraudulent advertising. They advertised a epic story, variety in modes, actual customization, and social aspects that are clearly not in the final product.
My advice on what to do about this? I'll tell you in four easy steps:
Step 1: Play Destiny to kill time for Halo release (Many already doing).
Step 2:Trade in Destiny for Halo when it releases.
Step 3: Pretend Destiny never happened (Remembering Bungie for the Halo games and every thing else they made).
Step 4: Play Halo and be happy. :)
That's my plan, and I'm sticking to it! I would suggest for maximum happiness and minimal agony that you follow this plan to the letter. If you agree: vote so!!
Note:
You can replace Step 1 with: "Play anything else but Destiny till Halo release."
Edit: PS players swap Halo for whatever PS game.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out they took out original game content just to resell back to people. Let the kids drink the kool aid. They arnt getting anymore of my money.
-
op must be new to video games
-
the way i decide if a game is good is whether i think i got value for money. 50 bucks paid, have i had at least 50 bucks worth of enjoyment? hell yeah.
-
You'll sit here and write up this wall of text about a game but I bet you don't put this much effort into your English essays.
-
Things change. Things stay the same. Things get cut from the game. Things stay in. It's the nature of game development. Suck it up or find another game.
-
So...a video from 1 year prior to release is you're reference? Really?! With nearly every game that comes out half of what you see in testing/developing videos NEVER make it to the game. It's been this way for years on all platforms in all types.
-
So let me get this straight. My options are: 1) Buy a $450 console with an NSA camera and a 3 year old GPU so I can play some games that I have beaten a minimum of 30 times a piece..... OR 2) Buy the season pass for Destiny. Why are there no reasonable choices in this poll? Oh, wait. I forgot I was on B.net. Nevermind.

Or we could just not give them anymore money and play something else... other than Halo...

There's a huge flaw in your plan. Half the people who play Destiny are on Playstation, meaning they have no access to Halo.
