New patch screwed casual players
In saying that topic I mean now when we do the raid we will no longer bring any one in the raid that we think won't be of any use in portals.
So instead of rotating three people we will only run the main six. Bungie I've met so many people that just can't do the portals. You also have now forced us to use auto rifle and fusion rifle load out. So much for not wanting people to use the same weapons.
All my mates have left and its just me and my brother and even we are starting to lose all faith. We want destiny to do well but not listing to your fans is bad.
Look we will hold out a bit longer but please there are real problems to address.
Edit : Alot of comments dont seem to get it that my clan has the raid on farm. I just dont want half the player base missing out on content they paid for. Just because not everyone can do portals even with practice. :(

2 RepliesI find that most players after two or three wipes, get the idea. I find the "intense" player complaining the problem. We all learn by doing. Would I do King's Fall hard, not yet. Still need to do normal to feel comfortable with all the possible jobs that need to be done. Personality, I find running the relic with the sisters to be my main problem.

35 RepliesI hate it when Casual players feel deprioritized by a decision that we make. I am a casual player. That said, there are places where we cannot go. I never played Halo on Legendary, for instance. The Raid is a hardcore activity. If you want to bring a Casual player through the Raid tell them what they need to know. My clan did that for me, and it blew my mind. I was grateful for the evolution.

Players need to get the ADHD under control from my experience in the raid.. There's always one idiot that can not follow directions and runs off getting killed.. Not every death in the raid is from this but the spastic and non team player deaths really seem to get to me for some reason

I have room to talk considering I've completed almost 20 raids without a mic, they didn't make it easy for me as most people blindly feel you must have a mic to do it. I've found that you only need to listen and be aware if you know what you're doing and are good at it. The portal team on atheon is definitely the biggest problem I run into while raiding. People refuse to remember \understand that the enemies and oracles in the portals are the real end boss, especially the pratorian. For hard mode every person that goes into the portals should help kill ALL enemies unless it's a highly experienced group of 30s.

Bungie should encourage better players to help others run the raid. Not to carry them, but stay on top of things. I'd add that Bungie should make it so all raid drops are better than shards until you are locked out. After that, you will get guaranteed shards for doing runs. Then people who beat hard for the week have a reason to go back in (even on normal). This would help make it so everyone can enjoy the raid content. Right now, it's even a bit inaccessible to many competent players. Like me, without a regular group and too wary of random groups (of mostly children). Bungie: after so many bad decisions, how bout you just do the opposite of what you think is best? Edit: Hard mode should probably stay hard, tho. I'm talking about making normal accessible.

The raid is the best coop multiplayer fps mission that I have ever completed. I've played it all over the years. It forces you to work as a team, know strategy, and be skilled. It is supposed to be hard. "Hard is what makes it great, if it was easy everyone would do it". If you have randoms you better be good at explaining/leadership if they aren't experienced. it shows people's true colors when you fail. I've actually lost a little respect for some of my friends the way they blame and cry after a wipe. The whole game is catered to equality and casual players. Give us hardcore guys something. People want to be able to waltz into the raid and be able to easily complete it? If you are that casual I heard candy crush is a fun game. People (myself included) get caught up in what this game could be and complain. I've since realized that I love this game, I've not been addicted like this since halo 2 multiplayer/black ops zombies. They are continually trying to improve the game. It's not perfect, it's the first pitch, let them get warmed up.

1 ReplyIf you are so good, maybe you should try to teach them and give them some time to get the hang of it. I understand it can be annoying or frustrating at times, but the least you could do is help them with what to do. People need to remember they themselves were raiding noobs once.

Seriously I play the raid with random people all the time and finish it quite easily, try talking to your team if they are struggling and let them know what they need to do.

I have a friend or two that is kinda bad at the game so I feel your pain. Also I have made pickup groups and also found that some ppl would rather die a million times while getting drunk/high while raiding. If that's your thing that's fine but don't, I repeat don't waste other ppls time and effort. The raid is not for the average person. They don't have the skill, time, effort or knowledge to get the job done.

Get a clue. And if you think auto and fusion rifles are the only viable weapon types for vog, you aren't as experienced as you think.

The vault IS NOT FOR CASUAL GAMERS. They should NOT be able to go right thru it or reep the rewards. If you can't do it even with practice it means you don't belong there. Not that everyone else should dumb it down for you. That's not how anything in life works

Basically what Deej said below. You can't play a game mode which can take up to 2-3 hours to complete, and expect to play it 'casually'. If you gave a casual player, then be a good team mate and tell him what to do.

8 RepliesIf you can't do the portals you're an idiot, simple as that. I can solo Mars after keeper no problem and doing the final phase is a joke. Teleport - person with relic kills mobs - other 2 shoot oracles. Man that was rough. Ppl outside just stand on pillars to avoid suicide bombers

Edited by Sir MAL1CE: 11/13/2014 6:43:03 PMThe whole point in building a team is the "building". you help lower lvls so they can in turn help others....thats the community side. The process of the VoG is to push your gaming ability so helping the lower lvls makes your team mates better.

2 RepliesIt just takes practice. The biggest thing is getting good killing all the adds with the relic quickly and not dying. Once you can do that, and then just walk with your homies and cleanse them, you got it. Any boob can shoot oracles. The relic is really the learning curve. I recommend just being ready to wipe a few times and let whoever needs the practice go get the 1st 2 relics and let them just go crazy and get that comfort level. Then when the teleporting starts no one panics because they have the relic.

1 ReplyIn my clan we've started a training session at the Templar to allow newer players a chance to get experience with the relic. That way they don't feel useless in the portals

The raid is not meant for casual players. It's supposed to be the toughest mission in the game, and the toughest one bungie has ever created for any game.
