Update 1.0.2.3. - Patch Notes [NEW UPDATE]

[UPDATE] So I was introduced to this little bit of information today, and felt it was a good example of Bungie doing a complete 180 in regards to this Atheon teleportation matter. It comes from an old Halo update, but really emphasizes what we've been saying all along within the community. It will be awesome to be able to hold more bounties. Got weasel one time, but every few minutes I'm getting kicked to orbit with monkey. How can anyone even attempt VoG today with all the disconnections? How can we expect to do it with the added issues and the added difficulty now? This is another reason why this random teleport change was unwelcome. Sure the server issues are temporary, but it just illustrates just how much you guys need to focus on the outstanding issues rather than try to add new mechanics. [EDIT 3A] Things seemed to get better with connecting around 7pm EST or so. I had quit out of Destiny before starting the raid and did not have any disconnection issues afterwards. [RAID UPDATE] FINALLY GOT MY BOOTS.

      • This really ticks me off. The entire feedback forum was bashing the entire patch for the reasons stated by OP not for 1 day but for almost an entire week. If Bungie continues to fix shit that is not broken then I will have to shelf Destiny. Nothing that we have been asking for since the games release has come to fruition. Give us proximity Voice Chat for -blam!-ssake at least. Damn, this is all basic shit that multiplayer games need and we are told "coming soon"...yeah okay, you know what else is coming soon? A decent story or plot, and by soon I mean never.

          • A nice edit would be to state, Deej led us to think we'd recieve the extra bounty space soon, Turns out it's from buying the DLC as if it's the extra custom classes in a CoD game.

Bungie [u]used to understand[/u] that the game mechanics [u]they are now forcing[/u] into Destiny (The RNG and randporting at Atheon) [i]are the wrong way to build a game[/i]. I mean they told us themselves it is the wrong way to build a game. What happened to Bungie?

                • As a dev I agree Also it feels like they just commented out the algorithm call without understanding how the rest of the script would handle it not being there... now it's 0-6 players sent, alive or dead, having oracles spawn before the teleportation completed (wipe), acting like someone picked up and dropped the relic before anyone gets there (wipe) and other bugs I never experienced before this "patch". Or actually it probably wasn't a lack of understanding how the rest of the script would handle it's absence, it was probably the programmer that wrote the algorithm to figure out the furthest players, proud of his work was told "we need you to get rid of this" and disgruntled they just commented it out in spite and let the rest of the script run lol.

                • FYI no computer software can create a completely random anything. There's already some slight pattern. FACT... so as long as that persist. We'll keep finding ways.

                    • I agree with you. And yeah, there's no way that the way the teleports were working was a bug. They had to code it and test it to make sure that the teleports actually sent you where they intended and didn't just kill three characters. This is a bullshit reason [b]to punish players[/b] for figuring out Atheon's teleport targets. Bungie has said; "We want you to figure out how to beat our toughest challenge in your own creative ways". Guess that really means; "unless you do it in a way we didn't plan anything for. You must defeat our toughest challenges in the way we planned, so your strategies can be damned." Skyrim is starting to look really good again...

                      • This game is now unplayable for me due to disconnections. I can't even finish a strike. Never had problems before this patch. Bungie, stop blocking comments on your Patch announcements. Blocking feedback leaves everyone feeling unheard.

                          Long gone are the days where a developer can make up programming lie and have the community believe it. There are enough developers here to pick out the bullshit when you blame it on code. Random teleports is different than proximity teleports. Your lies are becoming numerous and almost humorous

                        • They forgot to note that you can now get 7 strange coin for doing the weekly nightfall, which is retarded since you could already get exotic weapon drops which would cost 13 strange coin if you bought them from Xur or 9 strange coin on the weekly.

The reasons behind that can be speculated for weeks, but the effect of it is that even the enthusiastic and passionate players are being driven away.
