Caterpillar and disconnects from XBL 360

While playing digital download of Destiny on 360 Gettin frequent disconnects from Xbl making me have to restart my xbox. When it doesnt drop me from live I get caterpillar error. Probably has happened 15 times today and last night alone. Was having significant trouble staying connected on mars last night. No game has ever gave me this kind of trouble. I undid my port forwards since the latest update said it was unnecessary for these issues. I plug my 360 in with ethernet whenever I play destiny, still doesnt stop the wrath of random DCs. My buddie's network almost NEVERR GIVES errors on WiFi spare the occasional bee. Occasionally at home i get a hawk error instead but rare, even more so for other codes. Pls help my bandwidth is good and ping never bad on PC. I have had failures to connect to other Dark Souls 2 players before but that does not compare. Pls help this is one of my favorite games and im sick of reconnecting constantly. I am redownloading the game now from XBL, maybe it will help. Clearing system cache was pointless. Xbox customer support could not give a solid answer as to why destiny is capable of dropping my console from 360 live. Fatal Oath Titan, Xbox 360 ****UPDATE**** IF YOU ARE HAVING CATERPILLAR / DISCONNECTS FROM XBL, TRY SETTING UP A 'PASS THROUGH' on your ROUTER/MODEM by finding your MAC ADDRESS of your Xbox and entering it like example: 7c:1e:52:8a:57:25 I have played for 3 hours with only a weasel error so far, no disconnects from XBL.

I've got your same problem, buddy. Almost always caterpillar, otherwise it's a DC from Live, or hawk, followed by a kick from Live too. On occasion it will run enough to play for an hour or two, then starts running error codes every couple minutes after signing back in, making it unplayable from then on. And this has only happened since around the 16th of this month. Game ran smooth for me for the first 5 weeks.

      • Still not fixed... Can t play more than one strike without a crash error code. OP explain what a Pass Through is. I shouldn't need this just because of Destiny. My Xbox is perfectly fine how it is with every other game I play.

It's not Xbox LIVEs fault. It's Bungie's shitty and 'dusty' servers. I have no issues on ANY game on Xbox LIVE. Destiny is the only one that -blam!-s up like this. Destiny crashes more than Battlefield! lmao. Still no fix a week a half later. Good job, Bungie.

          • Try this aswell. Sometimes mixing updates can really screw your game. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/75853218/0/0 Try this. Sounds similar.

          • There are updates for error codes ZEBRA, CATERPILLAR/CATTLE, and BEE/FLY/LION. For more information, please click here. Bungie is continuing to research the various errors players are receiving. We have updated our recommendations for port forwarding and made some clarifications for when it can best help. Check out our guide here.

            • This same problem has been messing with my mind for over a week now. Their latest patch today hasn't helped at all. I can't even play the game for more than 5-10 minutes without having to restart my Xbox. Starting to wonder if this is ever going to get resolved...... what a waste of 60$....

                • I am having the same problem. Mostly caterpillar error or disconnects from live, with the occasional hawk error. It seems like it has gotten worse with today's patch. Now instead of disconnecting while loading areas or starting a mission it just randomly disconnects all of the time. Also, I almost never had the error in PVP, but now I get disconnected after a couple rounds of PVP. This is getting beyond annoying.

                  • Change your ip setting (DHCP) from auto to manual and assign an ip within your network to it. Usually it's either 192.168.0.2 thru 254 or 10.0.1. 2 thru 254 your gateway is either one of them but .1 at the end. Next in your router you're going to have to open up port 53 that should fix your problems

                    • This shit happened to me the first week of Destiny, wasted $60 that week, because I couldn't play AT ALL. It was fine after 9-18-14, but here come 10-25-14 and I can't -blam!-ing play. AT ALL. I've lost all of my faith in Bungie. I won't be able to raid in 6 hours, yeah.

                    • Same exact problem here. I've been playing it fine since the release up until now.

                    • The same thing has been happening to me I even bought to Xbox One version and it has no disconnects or error codes but none of my friends have it and I don't like the One controller. I hope Bungie fixes this because after Bungie's latest Connection update it seems like connecting to Destiny has been harder then ever.

                      • It's not your connection, I'm in your same situation disconnecting while in the middle of playing and I've tried literally everything to fix it, it started happening to alot of people after Bungie's latest update to the game.

                      • This started happening to me too about 3-4 weeks after release. I tried everything and finally found that enabling bridge mode on my Ubee 365 and hooking it up to a Netgear router fixed my issue. Not sure why it helped. I never had any issues with any other games and I have a 30dl/5ul cable connection. I feel like Destiny doesn't work well with certain routers. Most of the people I've seen with caterpillar errors have Ubee or Motorola gateways.
